The Bothie is the youth initiative of Action Kintore SCIO (www.actionkintore.org) charity.

The Bothie is a purpose built community hub in the heart of Kintore. Opened in December 2013 and driven by Action Kintore, a charity set up to provide facilities for the community with the help of many local organisations including Grampian Opportunities, Aberdeenshire Voluntary Action and Garioch Partnership. The Bothie is the home of many youth and community groups, meetings and birthday parties, and with the help of volunteers and youth workers, we have a range of youth groups set up to provide a safe, fun environment for the young people in Kintore to come along and get some support and advice on issues currently affecting them. Youth groups and projects are developed and delivered by our youth development worker, Rachel, and her brilliant team of youth workers and volunteers. We also hold fundraising events (mostly run by the young people who attend the Bothie) in order to raise money to cover the running costs of the charity.

One of our wonderful youth workers, Emmie, is officially off on maternity leave! We will miss her and wish her and her wee family all the best!

In the meantime, we are looking for someone to join our team!

All applicants should be passionate about supporting the young people, be able to develop positive, lasting and professional relationships with young people and be focused on maintaining a safe and educational space for all.

Our Young And Free To Speak youth group is on tonight!! This group is free and open to all young people aged 12+

Our trained youth workers will open the Bothie 7pm-9pm and will have the pool table, games consoles, snacks, music, board games, crafts and much more. 7pm-9pm tonight!

Sliding in the week like.....

It may not look this sunny and blue today, but we're back and ready to get our Youth projects up and running again! Now that's something to smile about!

Junior Group is on today for all kids in P5, P6 and P7 and runs 3.30pm-5pm. Entry, juice and snack is all free, just come along and sign in! See you guys there! :D

Great news to come back to!

We've been chosen as one of the Co-op's community charity's for the next year- yippie!!

If you shop at the co-op, please consider us as your chosen charity. All money raised will go towards taking young people away for a weekend residential next year :D

Happy Monday folks!

Hopefully everyone stayed cosy and safe over the wild weekend! Due to the weather, we were super delayed getting back home and need a day or two to readujt to Scottish life again!

Junior group will start back next Monday 2nd of November 3.30pm-5pm for all kids in P5, P6 and P7

Yafts youth group will restart tomorrow night, 27th of October. This group is free and open to all young dolk in S1+ and runs 7pm-9pm.

Looking forward to seeing you all again and hearing stories about the tattie holidays adventures! 🥳

We're looking for as many people as possible to take a few minutes to fill in our community questionnaire and have their say on the proposed pump track in Kintore.

We've made some great progress over the last few months, and getting feedback from the community is another important step towards making this happen.

You don't have to live in Kintore to fill it in! Whether you're from Kintore, Inverurie, Kemnay or further afield, we'd love to hear from you.

Whether you've got kids who would use it, you're into biking yourself, or you simply want to share your thoughts, every response helps.

𝙊𝘾𝙏𝙊𝘽𝙀𝙍 𝙃𝙊𝙇𝙄𝘿𝘼𝙔𝙎 – 𝙆𝙄𝘾𝙆𝙀𝙍 𝙍𝘼𝙈𝙋 𝘽𝙐𝙄𝙇𝘿

After chatting to a group of local Kintore loons who tipped up on their bikes at The Bothie Kintore open day last week, they we're all hoping we had our ramps with us. So we thought we'd get something going for the holidays.

We're heading back to The Bothie to build a wooden MTB kicker ramp with a few of them.
Give the boys something they actually enjoy doing while learning a few useful skills along the way. Using tools, measuring, cutting, drilling and building something themselves.

Ages 10–16. Limited spaces for this first one.
