Last night our Christmas got vandalised and they “attempted” to topple it. Wedges that hold it in place were pulled out and they were pulling at the power cable to try and tip it. They also cut several sets of lights and smashed baubles. Very deliberate and pointless. Thanks to all the team who came down this morning and sorted it out. Our tree is back up and beautiful again (albeit short of about 4 sets of lights).
I think some coal will be in some stockings this year 🎅🏻

⭐️ I We’ve excited for tonight’s switch on event and are making the final preparations🎄

It’s been a wet morning but it’s meant to stop raining when the event starts, here’s hope Santa can work his magic with the weather 🎅🏻

We have a new addition this year with a festive model stream train where the children can set the train of round the tracks and watch it come back with a sweet treat!

4pm - Stalls will start selling burgers 🍔 sausage dogs 🌭 mulled wine 🍷 hot chocolate 🍫 pancakes 🥞 candy floss, soft drinks and sweetie cones🧃 You can pay by card or cash 💰

4:30pm - The wonderful Kintore Pipe Band will be playing 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Before 5pm - Santa will be arriving in the village square 🎅🏼 Then Christmas lights will be switched on

Santa will give out a selection box to all children 🍫 with an opportunity to take photos with Santa

There is a sing-along at the church from 4-4:30 where after the pipe band will lead from the church to the square

Stalls will remain open until 6pm 🕕

Come and join us for a great way to kick off Christmas 🎉

Not long now until the festive switch on in Kintore 🎄
The tree and lights are up and ready to be turned this Saturday. We’re looking forward to seeing the people of Kintore come out and celebrate with Santa and his Elves 🎅🏻
We will put out an event schedule later in the week, but the fun starts from 4pm. Keep an eye out for an exciting new addition to the switch on event

Morning Kintore! The team will be out and about this morning putting the Christmas lights up, please be patient and take care when passing the cherry picker on the road.
The tree will also be lifted and installed between 9am-9:30am which will block forest road by the butchers.

Merry Christmas Kintore!

We would like to show our thanks and appreciation to everyone who helped to make our switch on event happen, from additional volunteers who work the BBQ tent, to the scouts group who work the mulled wine stall and of course our own team who always make it a great experience for everyone.
We would also like to thank the businesses who help us out,Dossett Butcher for suppling the amazing as always, burgers and sausages and giving us access to their facilities on the day, J.G Ross Cafe who donated burger buns, The Square Kintore who donated all of our soft drinks, Entier Ltd and Scott Jackson for donating all the selection boxes for Santa to give to the kids! And Jim Reid Vehicle Sales & Service for sponsorship of our beautiful Christmas tree!
Also all the public and local groups who donated money to help keep us running!
Great community spirit we have in Kintore!

Santa’s in town soon! Keep a lookout Kintore!

Look out Kintore! After a couple of day’s break Santa is back today with is rescheduled visit to Kintore.

He will be out from 4pm to 8pm and will cover as many streets as possible.

Keep an eye out for the tracker at 4pm and come see him.

A huge thank you to everyone in Osprey Village who came outside to see Santa and throw a penny in his bucket last night.

Tonight Santa is moving over to Osprey Heights! His plan is to start on Boynds Drive from 6pm, on through Threave Circle and all the way up Boynds Brae to the top before coming back down and moving over to Lochter Drive. He may not get all of Lochter Drive done tonight but don’t worry - he’ll be back tomorrow to finish what he doesn’t manage today.
