Child Dynamix's big clothing swap event is happening this Friday! If you haven't yet dropped off your donations before the event, you've still got until Thursday to do so.

Then, this Friday (19th June), come along to the Community Room at 95 Preston Road from 1pm to 3pm. We'll have all kinds of clothes available - with everything priced at just £1 or 1 token each.

Child Dynamix Community Nursery - Preston Road turned 25 years old recently and we thought that was worth celebrating! On Saturday morning we opened up our doors and treated the families at the nursery to a fun and free birthday party, with a host of games, activities, goodies and the chance to soak Gavin (sorry Gavin) 🥳

Did you know that our Trustees are volunteers? They kindly give us their time and expertise for free, helping us shape the direction of the charity, and keep us going strong. So this Volunteer's Week, we want to say thanks to our Trustees past and present!

25 years of serving the Preston Road community 🥳

It's our 25th birthday!! 🎈

Child Dynamix Preston Road first opened its doors on June 4th 2001, exactly 25 years ago today. Originally known as the Janet Genter Nursery, we have been proudly serving and supporting our local community for the past two and a half decades. A lot has changed in 25 years, but our dedication to high-quality childcare hasn't. 🙌

For children and families that attend our nursery, we're having our big party this Saturday morning between 10am and 12pm to celebrate. Come down for games, activities, cake and party bags! 🎂

As we continue to celebrate Volunteers' Week, we wanted to share the story of Connor, one of our volunteers. Here's him discussing his volunteering journey with the Youth, Sport & Play - Child Dynamix team:

❓ What do you do as a Youth Team Volunteer?
💬 I help out with staff and ensure everyone in the session has a good time. I also get feedback from the groups of young people and use their activity ideas for future sessions.

❓ Why did you decide to become a volunteer?
💬 I wanted to lean about youth work and what it entails. I attended sessions as a young person, and wanted to help out somewhere I know well.

❓What do you enjoy most about volunteering with Child Dynamix?
💬 I enjoy helping young people during the sessions with anything they need, for example learning new skills. It's fun to meet new young people and teach them how to play pool, or play Mario Kart with them.

Whilst we're celebrating Volunteer's Week, we also wanted to highlight that today is Power of Youth Day 2026, spearheaded by The movement!

On Power of Youth day, we want to recognise the way in which our Youth, Sport & Play - Child Dynamix team empower young people to shape decisions, lead change and build stronger communities.
