BHS South West

BHS South West We’re the British Horse Society. The UK’s largest equestrian charity. Join today and be a part of the Team! Defamatory or misleading information.

We champion horse and rider safety, access, education and care, helping every horse and person enjoy that amazing feeling.

About the BHS in the South West

The BHS South West Region is made up of 7 counties, Avon, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire. Each county has a team of volunteers who help to deliver the core work of the Society at a local level.

We also have a network of Accredited Professional Coaches and Approved Riding Centres and Livery Yards. The South West region boasts the largest numbers of BHS Members with over 16,000 people supporting the work that we do. About the BHS

Founded in 1947, The British Horse Society is the largest equestrian charity in the UK with over 100,000 members. Over the past 70 years, we have made a real impact on the lives of horses and horse owners with wide-ranging campaigns and initiatives. Our core foundations – education, welfare, access and safety – are more important than ever as they demonstrably make a difference to horses’ lives. We wouldn’t have been able to achieve what we have today without our volunteers and members. They help us to fund all of our important work and give us a greater voice when lobbying government on behalf of the horse, and those who care for them. Social Community Guidelines

📣 Calling all riders in the Huntworth/Bridgwater area - we need your comments please 📣

We have been notified that National Highways are planning to repair/refurbish the big M5 viaduct that spans the River Parrett and Bridgwater and Taunton Canal. The chances are that the works, scaffolding or even temporary closures may cause disruption to the roads and public rights of way under the bridge in that area and perhaps for quite a long time.

We have been asked to find out if you ride 🏇, walk 🚶‍➡️ or cycle 🚴 in this area so that we can feedback to NH and hopefully keep any disruption to a minimum.

Please comment in the original post or email [email protected]

🙏 Thank you
