🕯️ Wave of Light 2026 🕯️

Thank you to everybody that joined us this evening to participate in our Baby Loss Service followed by the Wave of Light at 7PM. This was a first for Kendal, and it certainly won’t be the last. We have already made arrangements that this will now become an annual service at Kendal Parish Church.

Huge thank you to Kendal Parish Church and The Co-operative Funeralcare Kendal for working alongside us at Remembering Romeo to create this important and meaningful service. It was a well attended and moving evening, the engagement between bereaved parents was empowering. It was so needed. It allowed a dedicated time to come together, reflect, remember but just as importantly engage. Speak about our losses openly and freely with those who understand through lived experience.

Thank you everyone who attended, spread the word and supported this event. It meant to world to us, and it meant to everyone that attended.

Everyone is welcome to join us on Thursday to reflect, remember and share their love for a little one lost too soon 👼

This service is open for anyone to remember. You don’t have to be a bereaved parent to grieve the loss of a baby. You may simply wish to pay your respects to all those lost too soon.

Please come join us for this special service. Candles will be provided 🕯️

This event if free of cost, everyone is welcome.

I cannot believe we only have one week to go…

I feel like this sale has come around so quickly, and we have had some incredible donations. We’ve been extremely busy testing, cleaning and checking!

We’ve got a lot of popular items again including Ergo Carrier, Rockit, Mom Cozy Travel Bottle Warmers (which retail at £89.99). There’s a playpen, lots of travel cots, a few cabin prams which are always super popular! 360 Car Seats! I think we have most bases covered with ‘most desirable’ items once again.

We have LOTS of amazing toys. Especially wooden toys. They’re always super popular and now is the time to get stashing for Christmas! But they do go quickly so be early!

There’s some lush SnuzPods. Next2Me. Cot Beds. Double Prams. There’s all sorts!

Tonnes of sleeping bags, and snow suits. I would quite confidently say 99% are £2 and under!

They’ll be loads of bargains to be had. Saving £££ on the RRP. I would advise any expectant parent, they grow and change so fast. Save your money, buy preloved. Save your money for holidays, days out, maternity leave and buy as good as new for a tiny fraction of the price!

Baby Loss Awareness Week 2026

Friday 9th October - Thursday 15th October

This is a week for many that feels bittersweet, myself included. Baby Loss Awareness is SO important, it’s a huge part of everything we’re doing BUT it’s so heavy. Last year I was in absolute no place mentally to even acknowledge it’s existence, yet here we are a year later hosting a baby loss service alongside Co-op Funeralcare and Kendal Parish Church because it feels important. It was missing from our community. A town as big as Kendal, having no dedicated baby loss service felt wrong. Families shouldn’t have to travel to Barrow or Lancaster; unrealistic for many after work for 6.30pm to participate in the Wave of Light.

I don’t have any content planned for the week to be honest, we’ll just roll with what feels appropriate. Please protect yourself. Social Media may be heavy this week. I find Tik Tok particularly heavy at times. If you need to protect yourself, do. Delete it. I periodically delete Tik Tok.

The Nearly New Sale is just over a week away, the Baby Loss Service is a week away, Halloween is creeping close, our raffle needs organising, our family workshops are on my radar (and tickets are available - free of cost!) then we need to decorate the tree for the festival and we’re heading to Glasgow to hand over two Abi Cooling Cots in a couple of weeks. We have two handovers to schedule in the Morecambe Bay Trust and one delivery pending potentially October maybe November. My brain is rammed 🤯

I cannot actually believe we’re only 12 days away… the container is very very close to full 🫣

I have a few prams to prep, otherwise we are on top of life thanks to my mum and dad. They have been an incredible help this week! I’m lying actually. I’ve got three boxes of clothes to price sat in our lounge.

Please, please do share our event! You can all do a better job at advertising than I can wasting money on running ads. You all have different friends etc. so any shares are greatly appreciated.

I’ve barely done any sneak peeks this time so it’s quite the mystery. I haven’t not done them because there’s nothing good, I just simply haven’t had the time. There are so really amazing donations. Prams, Car Seats, Travel Cots, Cots, Toys, Ergo Carriers, Toys, Clothes. There’s actually loads of really good stuff. There’s so many nappies. We had some really incredible donations the last 48 hours that I’ve sorted this evening. Rockit. Tutti Bambini Crib. Playpen. There’s literally all sorts! Loads of That’s Not My… and Julia Donaldson books in tonight’s sorting. Books are ALWAYS 20p if you haven’t been before!

I feel like we have the same buyers time and time again (this isn’t a complaint by the way). I feel like once you’ve been once, you’ve realised the bargains you can get, you come again so you don’t get FOMO 😂💙

🎅 Charity Christmas Tree Craft Workshop 🎅

This Christmas we are taking part in Kendal Parish Churches Charity Christmas Tree Festival raising funds for Abigail’s Foosteps 👣

We’d love you to help create something incredible in memory of your little angel 👼

We are hosting a bereaved families event open to anyone who has experienced pregnancy loss, baby loss or the loss of a child. We’d love bereaved families to come together and create their own little piece for our entry!

This year’s theme ‘Things that fly’ felt so symbolic of Romeo, as we often call him our butterfly boy. We quickly decided butterflies should be our theme! Since we did a butterfly release at Romeo’s funeral, we have had an abundance of butterflies in our house and we even had one in our Christmas tree last year. It was still there in the tree when I took it down. Having a butterfly sat on one of us in the house has become something really normal 😂 🦋

Each ticket booked is representative of one butterfly. If you are an accompanying adult who doesn’t wish to decorate a butterfly, you do not need to book a ticket. Tickets are completely free of charge, and all materials are provided. Booking is compulsory. They are available on a first come, first served basis. We just ask, if you book a ticket you attend otherwise the opportunity is being taken from another family. After the event we will then do our best to reunite the butterflies with their creators, although we cannot guarantee that they won’t fly away! 🤞

Please note, once this event is full, it is unfortunately full. There will be no more tickets available. It’s very difficult to gauge interest and turnout but I also want to ensure everyone’s butterfly makes it on the tree 🌲 💙
