At our recent Kids Cookalong, we made some classic tuna fishcakes complete with real breadcrumbs on the outside, not the day-glo orange ones from yesteryear!

The children had great fun forming the fishcake shapes, dunking them in the egg and then the breadcrumbs, getting totally messy! We made a lemony yoghurt sauce to go with them, to which you can also add a little bit of chilli powder or fajita spice mix to zizz it up a bit!

See our recipe and be sure to send us a photo if you make some with your young 'uns! > https://tinyurl.com/y62yzf6s

Our next Kids Cookalong is on Monday 26th October (half-term) from 10:30am-1pm, and we're making pasties! There'll be chicken and bean options, and the smell of homecooked pastry will be knockout!

Suitable for ages 6-16 accompanied by an adult.

Suggested donation of £4 per child, £7 per adult. If that's a stretch please use promo code WELLBEING to request a free ticket.

Our Kids Cookalongs are delivered in partnership with Kendal Dental Care and funding from the UK Government.

Looking forward to seeing everyone today at the Kendal Town Council's Autumn Fete , 12pm-4pm at Abbot Hall Park!

We'll have a stall where you can chat with our wonderful volunteers, play games, get more info about what we do, and sample some of the delicious meals and cakes we make using surplus food.

This will be a traditional fete for the whole community, hosted by Kendal Town Council. It comes at the end of a series of heritage days celebrating Kendal's history and culture. At the fete marks the 450th anniversary of the granting of the town's charter, and raises funds for the Mayor of Kendal's Charities.

We hope to see you all there!
