Harvey goes full "bake off" thanks to the team at Merewood Hotel in the Lakes👨🍳
We've got an exceedingly good....cake - but it's not from Mr Kipling it's thanks to Mr Harvey and the fab team at the Merewood Hotel in Windermere🥳
R2W Job Coach, Kirstie Packham tells us about this perfect recipe when it comes to Supported Internships:
"Harvey recently completed a two day taster work placement with The Merewood Hotel in Windermere. The taster was very carefully set up by Sophie, our employment advisor and the Merewood HR staff, Helen.
He worked in the kitchen with the support of myself alongside Cameron; their pastry chef and Ambrus; their head chef for learning and developing new skills and recipes in a different working environment.
Cameron was very caring and helpful with Harvey showing him around the kitchen, introducing him to the staff team. He passed on his diverse knowledge of working in a kitchen and his passion for food. Harvey demonstrated great food safety, food preparation techniques and communicated well with the staff.
Together Harvey and Cameron made a range of recipes from start to finish; Creme Brulee and shortbread biscuits, Japanese milk rolls, bread loaf, scones and preparing veg. Harvey got to sample each of his creations.
A huge thank you to everyone involved to make this a great opportunity for Harvey whilst on the Supported Internship."
