🥳Flying the flag for Supported Internships!
For the past week we have been rounding up SI success stories across our patch.
Our very own Sarah Richardson has flagpole ready and is up and ready for celebrating for SI’s at Center Parcs - who have been a great employer partner for us:
“Emily has completed an SI programme with the Family Activities team at Center Parcs, Whinfell near Penrith.
Since starting on the programme Emily has grown in confidence and ability. Formerly quite shy and reserved, Emily has demonstrated real growth in terms of her interaction with guests and colleagues and also in her own confidence.
A love of theatre has enabled Emily to embrace the variety of activities that are offered to guests staying on the village and she has demonstrated great flair in ensuring guests receive a good, quality experience whilst delivering to the Center Parcs core values.
Some of the activities are tailored to babies and toddlers and it is here that Emily has shown an aptitude for delivering to this age group. She has demonstrated an enviable ability to naturally modify her speech, volume and pitch, when addressing this age group and delivering interactive sessions; so much so that staff have commented she would do well to seek employment in this sector. Emily was supported in her placement by a job coach and the whole of the Family Activities team who warmly welcomed her into her role and treated her as part of the Center Parcs family.
As a result of the time and effort Emily has invested into her S.I. participation, coupled with encouragement and mentoring from her job coach and Center Parcs staff, Emily has been able to secure paid employment locally. This is a tremendous outcome for Emily and we wish her every success for the future.”
