Structured learning programmes for young people and adults with learning disabilities, autism or other barriers to gain skills, build confidence and move closer to employment. Right2Work Learning offer individual learning pathways to develop essential skills for life. Our programmes provide personal development, independent living skills, travel and employability training and hands on experience in a supportive environment. We offer a pre-supported internship and a supported internship programme for young people who are ready to take the first steps in to the world of work, but need support to do so.

Breaking elevenses news from Carlisle☕️

Our Supported Internship-Cumberland team have been back to the factory....the temptations were too much🍪😋

Rebecca Hewson explains:

“We all had the pleasure of heading back over to McVities in Carlise last Thursday, where General Manager Mark Ebdon and HR business Manager Katie Hunter gave us a tour of the factory and also gave us a talk on the history of the factory. This gave our learners a good insight to what job roles are available within the factory and of the environment itself.”

Our team in Carlisle never "take the biscuit" - but this time...well...

R2W's Rebecca Hewson explains:

“Recently I had the opportunity to head over to McVities/Carr’s, and meet with the General manager Mark, alongside Katie and Kelly from their HR department for Pladis.

I was given a tour of the premises and witnessed the amazing produce being created. We are now looking forward to working alongside McVities, as they would love to have one of our learners on board!"☺️

Data can prove a challenge for many – not for our Dan he embraces & gets results🥳

Here’s a lovely tale to bring you about his journey via our Supported Internship team in North Yorkshire.

Dan has just started his role as a Junior Data Scientist this month, and has “displayed unwavering determination and growth throughout his time with us. Supporting Dan and seeing his progression firsthand, from student intern to paid colleague, has been a wonderful experience and we are all so proud.” Ellie Parkin, Skipton R2W SI Team

The support Dan received from mentors Jag, Charlie and Paul have been instrumental in helping him hone his technical skills and build a solid foundation for his career.

Future Choices is a five-day-a-week Personal Development Programme supporting adults aged 18+ with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Our purpose is simple: to build confidence, develop independence and create real-life opportunities that enable learners to become active, valued members of their communities.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, inspiring and proactive Lead Trainer who will play a hands-on role in delivering the programme, motivating learners and colleagues, and creating meaningful opportunities for personal development.

This time last week Sally Pattison one of our Right2Work managers had the privilege of delivering a workshop on Building an Inclusive Workforce at the Northern Edge Summit at Kendal College.

Sally says, "A huge thank you to the team at Kendal College Apprenticeships for inviting me to be part of the Northern Edge Summit, and to everyone who attended my session with such positivity, honesty and engagement.

I was also able to explain the benefits for our new Connect to Work programme launched this year."
