The Jedburgh Community Council Elections have been announced for June 11th. It's so good that so many people have put themselves forward!

Dean, James (Spence) and Alison from our group are in the running. With our Art hats on we'll also shout out to Mark who is a writer and on the committee for Borders Writers Forum, Tonya who runs the lovely Wild At Art on the high street, Julian who is part of ArtAffect who will be running the Old Bakery as artist studios (and more!) when it opens later this year and Jane who has worked alot in Culture, inc CABN. And none-art shout outs for Iain who has been part of the very hard working pool group and James Steele from Jedburgh Community Trust who have made the Port House and Old Bakery project happen - we'd like to sit alongside them on the Community Council as we develop the Town Hall plans on behalf of the community.

Aside of that, there are too many people to mention but we're sure everyone would do a brilliant job and help take the JCC forward.

If you are eligble, don't forget to vote on June 11th!

Lovely to have our first reportage in the current issue of .jedeye . We're looking forward to our Made In Jed event on June 14th - hope to see you there.

We're looking forward to the Made In Jed event next month (see comments for link) but ahead of that we though it might be fun for people to share a little bit on here too. Have you made something in Jed? Anything, from a painting to a cake to a doodle to a scarf! Share a picture or link to something creative, or tag people you think you should be sharing!

We were told time and time again that the people of Jedburgh were apathetic and we were told no one was willing to step up and get involved. After the great levels of support for the library, brilliant numbers out at the community volunteer meeting this month and super sign up for JCA members it's also exciting to hear that so many have put their hat in the ring for the community council there may need to be an election - something we were told 'would never happen'.

Actually engage with your community and great things can happen!
