With 135 listed buildings within the conservation area, Jedburgh has a rich heritage and a wealth of historic buildings w

hich to this day continue to inspire and attract new business and opportunities to the town. However, over time some of these local treasure can be forgotten and left to fall into a poor state of repair. The goal of Jedburgh Community Trust, is to protect and restore these local heritage landmarks and buildings - saving them from decay and reintroducing their value back into the community. Over the last 20 years, the Trust has taken on a variety of local project that have gone on to successfully support the economic development of the town - providing facilities for education, recreation and social welfare. Set up entirely by a committed team of volunteers, Jedburgh Community Trust relies on the unique skills and support of the local towns folk and businesses to see our projects through. Working together to restore our towns heritage sites and creating a vibrant network of likeminded people, each dedicated to the growth and prosperity of the town we call home.

Sadly the Glebe toilets have been vandalised again. This is making it very hard for JCT in collaboration with the Abbey Bridge Cafe to keep the toilets open. Every time this happens it questions the viability of keeping them open. It would be a real loss for Jedburgh and the people who visit Jedburgh if they are not viable to run. We are looking into options in what can be done about the continual vandalism of the toilets.

Renovations of the Old Bakery are continuing. Fire proofing the old infrastructure has been one of the most major work of the renovation. Most of the work is hidden in the roof and and behind walls. An example of this a custom made fire door for the attic, weighing over 50kg. What is not shown is the ladder into the attic where the door has to be carried up!
