One of the earliest art forms was story-telling. English poet, Chaucer, wrote the Canterbury Tales in 1392 (!) where the pilgrims to Canterbury told each other stories on the way. Although we are not suggesting walking St Cuthbert's way and telling tales (thought we might in the future, eh!😉), we are super pleased to have Jedburgh's own James Spence to help us weave and share our stories together. Come along with your story:

Collage! 'A collage is a technique of art creation, originating from the French word coller ("to glue"), where various materials like photographs, paper, and fabric are assembled and stuck onto a surface to create a new, cohesive artwork.
16th May 10am to 3pm, at ArtAffect, 11 Exchange Street, Jedburgh, Nicole Manley will be introducing collage in its many forms as a way of exploring past present and future experiences of the Jed River and other local rivers in the Scottish Borders through the making of collage. People with memories of Jed River and other local rivers are warmly invited to participate in a voyage down memory lane exploring thoughts and feelings about their river and our natural and historical heritage.
