As part of our Corporate Volunteering Event last week with volunteers from Rosehill Library Suffolk Community Libraries, City & Guilds and Orbit Housing Association we managed to get some donations out to Community Partners; it was lovely to let them see the full process to the end! As our newest Community Partner to join us, we had Laura and Emma from Emmaus-Suffolk collect their first donations! On behalf of everyone who has donated to us in the past - thank you for helping make this possible.

Emmaus provides local support that helps people find hope beyond homelessness - providing spaces for everyone to belong and thrive. Their Wellbeing Hubs help to reduce isolation and loneliness, offering welcoming, warm spaces to all.

A lovely trip to see Ivy at Woodbridge Library to empty their donations box. They had a fantastic collection - including some great chunky items that hardly fitted in the box! Thank you to all the library users and staff for dropping off these items - they'll be appreciated by so many people!

To finish off Volunteers Week we had a very exciting day planned, we had some local people come and do some Corporate Volunteering on behalf of their organisations! So, we had Joy from the Rosehill Library, Michelle from City & Guilds and Sarah from Orbit Housing Association all come and help out a couple of our usual Volunteers package up some donation parcels to be distributed! We want to thank them all so much - we managed to get so much work done (they sent out 499.25kg in 2 hours)! and had such a lovely time working alongside you all.

We're continuing to celebrate Volunteers Week here at The Hygiene Bank Ipswich. So we're highlighting our fantastic volunteer Keir delivering lots of fantastic baby products to the Volunteer-led charity Pitstop. A delivery like this couldn't be done without a whole network of people giving up their time to do good in their community. These donations were possible because of donations from people across the local area, as well as some money given to us from Ipswich Borough Council- so thank you to everyone.

Pitstop is a fantastic donation-based group that runs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning at St Edmund's Parish Hall in Felixstowe. They stock a wide variety of items for young families, including baby clothes, pushchairs and toys. We're delighted to contribute toiletries and nappies, helping to support the invaluable service they provide to local families.

Lovely trip to the little Boots UK store in Hadleigh to collect a great selection of products. We've been sorting through it and some of it has already made it's way to some very grateful members of the community.

We also have collection points in nine other local Suffolk Boots stores: Woodbridge, Martlesham, Felixstowe, Ipswich's Queensway, Two Rivers & Tavern Street, and also newly in Bury St Edmunds, Sudbury and Great Cornard. Happy Volunteers Week!

We just want to take a moment to thank our small but wonderful team here at The Ipswich Hygiene Bank. All of our volunteers give up some of their free time to help people locally and we just couldn't do it without them!

Yesterday was Menstrual Hygiene Day!

Research suggests that 1 in 10 people in the UK have struggled to afford period products. Without access to products, people can be forced to use makeshift solutions, miss education or work, and suffer embarrassment.
🔴
The average person uses 22 period items per cycle, so costs mount up each month. This is where reusable products come in, menstrual cups like these ones from Kind Organic last multiple years. Thanks to this kind of donation there will be people locally who have one less thing to think about buying each month.
