Dora Brown is a small but mighty charity based in Suffolk, transforming homes for families in crisis

31/10/2026

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, hear about our work + donate to Dora Brown at the Slow Living Market in Orford today. 🩵 Every pound will help us turn a family’s overwhelmed home into somewhere clear, calm + ready to live in again. 🤎 We’re back tomorrow from 10am. Come and say hi!

It’s Halloween and Cass came dressed for the occasion…
🎃🧙‍♀️
But we know Dora Brown’s real magic isn’t spells. 🪄 Oh no. It’s the brilliant volunteers who turn up with rubber gloves + a lot of heart.
🩵🤎
Fancy joining our coven? Hats optional. 🧙🏼 Email [email protected] for more volunteering info.

What a difference a day makes.
🤎🩵
A room with barely space to move became somewhere a family can finally sit down, relax + breathe.
📺 🛋️
One day, one team of volunteers who turned up + got on with it. That’s what a day can do. Want to help us do it again? Volunteer or bring your team, drop us a DM to find out more.

Who knew a day out of the office could make such a difference to a family’s home?
💪🏻🏡
The brilliant team from RBC Brewin Dolphin Ipswich swapped their desks for a day volunteering with Dora Brown earlier this month. And what a team they were! Absolute superstars.
🌟👏🏻
For a small, people for people charity like Dora Brown, corporate volunteering packs a mighty punch. More hands mean bigger jobs tackled, more homes transformed + more families given a fresh start.
🙌🏻
A huge thank you to every one of you!
🙏🏻
Could your team be our next dream team? If you fancy swapping spreadsheets for scrubbing, clearing + organising, we’d love to hear from you.

Before. 👀 Swipe for after.

A murky hot tub in the middle of the garden is nobody’s idea of a family home. Charlotte + Elizabeth pulled on the rubber gloves + got stuck in, even after a 2 hour journey last Friday!
🩵
Hot tub removed, garden tidied, patio cleared. Dedicated, determined + absolutely brilliant, the pair of them.
👏🏻
This is what two volunteers can do with a few hours. An outdoor space that’s ready to be used again, and people who just get on with it.
🤎
Want to be part of the next one? We volunteer on Wednesdays + Fridays. Email [email protected].

19/10/2026

Three months, 373 volunteers hours, 7 families who needed a hand getting back to square one.
🩵🤎
Swipe for the full Q3 round up + a very big thank you to Ruth who does the washing in her own machine every week.
🧺
To everyone who gave up a Wednesday or a Friday - you did this.
📆
To the funders, the fundraisers + everyone who ran, walked, skydived or exhibited for us - you made it possible.
🏃‍♀️
So much more to do until the end of the year. Please keep shouting about us and our work.
🗣️
Thank you. 🩵🤎
