This week we're taking a look at the congenital heart condition, Tetralogy of Fallot (ToF).

ToF is a complex heart condition made up of four heart defects, and affects everyone differently.

Changes to blood flow can mean the body receives less oxygen and the heart has to work harder. This may cause breathlessness, tiredness, dizziness or blue or grey skin and lips.

Most people with ToF have surgery during childhood, but it remains a lifelong condition. Regular check-ups with a congenital heart specialist are important, even if you feel well.

Another travel tip for those who take Warfarin! If you have a self-monitoring machine like the Coagucheck machine, make sure you keep the test strips in your hand luggage to keep them safe, as the temperature in the aircraft hold can become too low for them and potentially make them unusable.

Did you know your online shopping could help us support adults born with heart conditions and their families, at no extra cost to you? ❤️

easyfundraising is a free way to turn your normal online shopping into donations for a cause that matters to you.

Participating retailers donate either a percentage of what you spend or a set amount, while you pay exactly the same price.
