We have had a busy day with lots of visitors and donations of books. 📚📚📚📚
One selection included this book - and half an hour later a customer saw it on the pile waiting to go on the shelf and it was the exact book she had come in looking for!
We absolutely love it when that happens. 😊

Happy Bookshop Day 🥳

We're not open ourselves today (we're working on Saturday opening) but there are lots of local bookshops that would love your support.
Books make excellent gifts - every possible interest is covered, they come in a range of prices to suit all budgets and they are really easy to wrap! 😊

It's so lovely to be back up and running and it was a beautiful day to have the door wide open 😊
Regular and new customers are finding us and the local businesses and residents that we have spoken to have been so friendly and welcoming - one lovely lady even brought us over a home baked cake and it was still warm - thank you so much 😊

Our opening hours are;
Monday - 11.00-3.00
Tuesday - 10.30-3.00
Wednesday - 11.00-3.00
Thursday - 10.30-3.00
Friday - 11.00-3.00

Hello lovely people 🙂 After a week of hard work (thank you so much to all our volunteers) we are ready (enough! lol) to open.
So, we will open in our new home slightly earlier than expected, tomorrow from 10am til 2pm.
It seems very fitting to open during Ipswich Book Festival weekend, when the town is full of book lovers 😊
So, after visiting all the fab stuff that is going on you can come and see us at 71 Upper Orwell Street.
We have lots of great new stock, but it's a little bit limited for now, so it'll be max 2 fiction books per person this weekend, so we have some left for Monday! 😂
We will need some more fiction donations fairly soon, so if you have any you no longer need, please do bring them along.

You're Invited!

We are so excited to invite all of our families along to our story trail in Christchurch Park and Ipswich County Library.

We have been working in collaboration with Ipswich Children's Book Group, and Active Suffolk to bring you a wonderful, engaging story trail this Autumn.

We will launch our trail on 10th October and will be holding storytimes in Ipswich County Library that everyone can join us for!
Come along at 10am/12pm/2pm for half an hour of lovely stories, take a walk through the park to find our trail stops and join in with whichever activities you choose!

All children participating in the trail can also collect a certificate from the Ipswich County Library!

This is an unassuming and apparently unexciting photo! But....it contains 7 banana boxes full of local books that will be available in our new shop 😁
With enormous thanks to one of our sister shops GET Free Books Bedworth for sorting them out of a huge donation they received and to lead volunteer, Diane, for delivering them to us.
They will be very very popular here 🙂

We have had a busy afternoon packing up and moving over to our new home. A huge thank you to Tina for making 71 Upper Orwell St available to us, we are very grateful and excited to get set up and open there.
It's a terrible muddle at the moment, but we do have our first window display of local books 😊
We will be opening on Monday 5th October, so we'll see you then 😊
