Happy World Environment Day.

Today, on the 5th June, the world pauses to think about the planet we share and what each of us can do to protect it.

At Creating Nature's Corridors, every single day is World Environment Day. It's why we get up in the morning, pull on our boots, and get back out into the fields and woodlands we are working so hard to restore.
But today feels particularly special. Because it's a day when millions of people around the world stop and ask the same question at the same time:
What can I do? And our answer is always the same.
Plant a tree. Support a hedgerow. Give wildlife a corridor to travel through. Restore what has been lost. Leave something behind that will outlast all of us.

In just five years, our community has planted over 18,184 native trees and hedging plants across the UK and Ireland. 35 acres of brand new woodland at Rory's Wood, Grafham Water. Hundreds of volunteers who showed up, again and again, because they believed it was worth it.
It is worth it. Every single tree.

The environment doesn't need a single perfect hero. It needs millions of ordinary people doing something however small, with genuine love and commitment.

So today, on World Environment Day, we want to say thank you. To every volunteer who has planted with us. Every donor who has supported us. Every person who has shared our posts, adopted a tree, joined a planting day, or simply stopped to notice the natural world around them.
You are the reason this works. 💚

And if you've been thinking about getting involved, today is the most perfect day to start.

This , we’re celebrating the people who make moments like this possible 💚

Earlier this year at Grafham Water, over 800 volunteers came together to support a major tree planting project with Creating Natures Corridors.

In this video, Mike Drew shares what it meant to be part of something bigger, and the power of people coming together to make a difference for wildlife, the landscape, and future generations.

🌱 We couldn't do this without you. Seriously. Not one single tree.

Creating Nature's Corridors exists because of people who care, people who show up in muddy fields on cold mornings, people who share our posts, people who donate, fundraise, and spread the word about why what we're doing matters so much.

And we always always need more of you. 💚
Whether you'd like to:

🌳 Get your hands dirty, join one of our tree and hedgerow planting days and watch a woodland take shape in front of your eyes. There is genuinely nothing quite like it.

🎉 Help us fundraise from charity walks to balls, sponsored challenges and community events, there are so many ways to raise vital funds for the trees, hedgerows and wildlife corridors we're working so hard to create.

📣 Spread the word, sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is simply tell someone else about us. Share a post. Tell a friend. Bring someone along to a planting day. It all adds up to something extraordinary.

Every volunteer, every fundraiser, every champion we gain is another step towards a greener, wilder, more connected natural landscape for wildlife, for communities, and for the generations who come after us.

If you'd like to be part of it, and we genuinely hope you do, sign up to our newsletter using the link in our bio. It's where you'll hear about upcoming planting days, events, fundraising opportunities and everything else happening in the world of Creating Nature's Corridors first. 🌿
Come and join us. The trees need you. 🌳

🌿 30 minutes. That's all it takes.

Step outside. Find some green. Breathe.

Science tells us that just 30 minutes spent in nature can lower your cortisol levels, reduce anxiety, lift your mood and leave you feeling genuinely restored and not scrolling through nice pictures restored. Actually, properly, deeply restored.

No gym membership required. No special equipment. No planning.
Just you, some fresh air, and whatever bit of the natural world is closest to your door. A park, a field, a canal path, a woodland. It all counts. Every single minute of it. 🌳

In a world that pulls us indoors, onto screens, and into our heads, nature is always there, quietly doing its thing, ready to remind us what matters.
So if you needed a sign to step away from your phone today, this is it.
Put it down. Go outside. We promise the notifications will wait.

There is nothing quite like an early morning walk in nature.

The air before the world wakes up is something else entirely. Cool, still, and full of possibility.

This morning the birds were loud, the dew was on the grass, and for a little while everything felt very simple and very good. 🐦☀️

If you haven't set your alarm a little earlier this week just to get outside before the day begins, we'd gently recommend it. It costs nothing and gives back everything.

Nature has a way of quietly putting things back in their right order. 💚

🐝 Happy World Bee Day

Let's take a moment to talk about the tiny creatures holding our world together. Bees. The most important workers on the planet and the ones we take most for granted.

Did you know that one-third of everything you eat today exists because a bee showed up to work? From the apple in your lunchbox to the wildflowers lining our country lanes, bees are quietly, tirelessly, making it all possible. Without them, our food system doesn't just struggle, it collapses.

And yet we are losing them. Habitat destruction, pesticide use, climate change and the relentless disappearance of our wildflower meadows and native hedgerows are pushing bee populations to the edge at a pace that should genuinely frighten us. This is exactly why the work we do at Creating Nature's Corridors matters so much.

Every native tree we plant is a landing pad for pollinators 🌸
Every hedgerow we establish is a corridor bees can travel safely 🌿
Every wildflower that blooms in our restored habitats is a feast laid on just for them 🌼

Over 18,000 trees now grow at Rory's Wood, Grafham Water and with every single one, we are giving bees and the hundreds of other pollinators that share our landscape a little more of what they need to survive and thrive.

On World Bee Day, the greatest gift you can give is a little more habitat. Plant a wildflower pot on your windowsill. Let a patch of your garden go wild. Support organisations like ours that are working to restore what's been lost.

And if you'd like to plant a tree in someone's name and give pollinators a home for generations to come, visit the link in our bio. 🌱
Every tree. Every hedgerow. Every bee. 💚

🧚 We have some very exciting news from Rory's Wood…

We've been keeping this secret for a little while now, but we simply can't contain ourselves any longer.

Some very special new residents are moving into Rory's Wood at Grafham Water, and from what we hear, they're planning to be settled in before the Bank Holiday weekend. 🏡✨

That's right. The fairies have found us.
Tiny doors have begun appearing at the base of our trees, and if you look very carefully, you might spot the signs of a new woodland community taking shape among the roots and wildflowers of Rory's Wood. 🌿🚪

We have a feeling these magical new neighbours chose Rory's Wood for a very good reason. After all, with over 18,000 native trees, a carpet of wildflowers, and more wildlife than you can shake a wand at, honestly, who could blame them? 🌸

So here's our question for you…

👇 What do you think the fairies have named their new home? Drop your suggestions in the comments we'll make sure to pass the best ones along to our new residents. We're fairly sure they're reading. 🧚‍♀️ And if you're planning a Bank Holiday adventure, why not come and say hello? Rory's Wood is open, beautiful, and now apparently home to some very discerning magical folk. We'll see you in the woods. 🌳💚
