"From the ashes rose the phoenix"..Although hedge laying is probably the best way to rejuvenate hedges ,if they are older (too big to lay effectively ) then dead hedging is a good alternative and if a double row is cut like this it acts as a support for the 'dead ' hedge cuttings in the space between.and is still an important wildlife habitat corridor and barrier plus no fuel used for chipping and no bonfire CO2 dispersal.... Stakes cut from the existing hedge can be pointed and used to strengthen the gaps (this one is still in the making ) ..💚
