Thackray Museum of Medicine's next exhibition will be exploring the extremely complex topic of skin. It's the bodies largest organ and its main function is to protect us, but what happens when the colour of our skin can make us a target?
Please can you share this information amongst your groups and networks. This exhibition will be centring the experience of people with darker skin tones; we therefore encourage people with these experiences to participate as spaces are limited.
Come and join us at our next Community Table event for an evening of Caribbean food by Sugar & spice, Melanin joy, creative activities and good chat! We'll be exploring how we feel about our own skin, and what you think the exhibition should talk about. This is an alcohol- free event, all ages are welcome.
Time: 6-8pm
Date: Wednesday 5th August
Location: Thackray Museum of Medicine, Harehills, LS9 7LN
Please be aware that sensitive subjects will be discussed at this event as we delve into the complexities of skin from a social and medical perspective.
