A registered charity offering help to the homeless and those in need. We operate in Yorkshire, Chatham but this page covers Yorkshire.

We offer snacks, drinks, clothing, hygeine items. We also attend appointments with clients for housing,

Our volunteer Sam and her husband held a celebration in memory of their son Harrison on what would have been his 30th birthday.

They were supposed to have a bonfire but storm Boelo had other ideas. They still had a great evening with family and friends despite the storm.

They invited their guests to donate to One Big Family either from our Wishlist or bringing food items to the ‘do’ or online donations. They did this because Harrison always spoke to and had empathy with those experiencing homelessness in and around Huddersfield.

Thank you to Sam, Andrew, Tom and all their family/friends who made some fabulous donations (just a few pictured). We really appreciate this wonderful support 💙

We would like to thank the pupils and staff at Gomersal Primary School for their wonderful Harvest Festival Donation.

This will be used for those who really struggle to make ends meet with food. Imagine wondering where your next meal is coming from.

The amazing walkers arrived back around midday. They were exhausted but proud of what they had achieved. The walk can’t happen without the amazing support teams and volunteers who work behind the scenes. Thanks to all involved 💙

It’s been a tense couple of hours - train cancellations meant London to Chatham had to be reorganised.as we just couldn’t find a way to get everyone there. Darren quickly worked out a route that would mean the walkers doing the same distance but leaving from Chatham. They are are now walking to Dartford and back. 50 amazing people raising money for our charity

Tonight is the night and today we will be getting the support vans prepped for tonight. Makeshift toilets, food, drink, medical supplies are provided for the 40 or so walkers.

It’s a big day and an even bigger night!

Fundraiser - I will be once again, Walking from London to Chatham to raise valuable funds for our charity. The Walk is extremely tough as I’ve done it eight times before, This time my knees really are bad but I’m still prepared to do it so we can help others. 24/10/...

The team were out on Monday helping people who need it most.

We had someone who was sleeping rough whose sleeping bag and coats were drenched, luckily we had clean dry sleeping bags with us for them.

This will be the challenge for people over this coming weekend with heavy rain and storm conditions due.

Everyone who needed it got a hot drink, food and toiletries. Everybody is welcome to ask for help without judgement.

The sponsored walk is tomorrow and today I have travelled south in readiness. This afternoon we have sorted drinks and snacks for the 40 walkers ready to be loaded up tomorrow.

This is the 9th year for our annual sponsored walk. It’s a huge 35 miles and done through the night from London to Chatham.

Just because the walk is down south it doesn’t mean that we don’t benefit from the proceeds up north.

I have done this walk many times but this year due to my hip replacement earlier in the year I can’t do it. I’m sharing Darren’s page as his is a co founder and most active volunteer ever and this is his 9th walk.
