Our friends at

Emotional Wellbeing Group

Did you know we offer FREE text counselling twice a week to anyone who needs someone to talk to?
Our lottery-funded live counsellors are available:

📱 Thursday evenings: 6pm–8pm
📱 Saturday mornings: 10am–12pm

It’s a private, confidential space where you can talk to a qualified counsellor about whatever is on your mind. You don’t have to be in crisis or have everything figured out — sometimes having someone there to listen can make all the difference. ❤️

We also offer:
🌱 In-person counselling
📚 Training and workshops
💛 Free and low-cost support

We are a community organisation that relies on donations and funding to keep our services free or affordable, so if you work with people who might benefit from our support, we’d love it if you could pass it on or get in touch!

28 AUGUST 2021... THE LAST BRITISH TROOPS LEFT
AFGHANISTAN

Five years ago today, the final British military flight left Kabul.

It brought to an end almost 20 years of British military involvement in Afghanistan.

Several tours. Different times, different roles, but a country and experiences that will stay with me for the rest of my life.

Like thousands of others, I went because that was the job. We served alongside some incredible people, made friendships that will last a lifetime and saw things that are difficult to explain to anyone who wasn't there.

More than 150,000 British personnel served in Afghanistan.

457 British personnel lost their lives.

Sons. Daughters. Fathers. Mothers. Brothers. Sisters. Friends.

For many veterans, Afghanistan isn't something in a history book.

It was part of our youth.

And for 457 of our own, it was where their future ended.

Today we remember them.
Lest We Forget. 🌹🫡🇬🇧

🐾☕ BREW & BANTER WITH OUR COMMUNITY SUPPORT DOGS 🇬🇧

Tuesday morning, our Community Support Dogs Ness and River joined the veterans of Leigh and the team at The Leigh FOB for Brew & Banter. 🐾❤️

There’s something special about the way dogs can break down barriers, create conversations and bring people together. Our Community Support Dogs are an amazing asset in supporting our veterans providing companionship, connection and a reason to smile. 🐕‍🦺

For many veterans, simply having a dog by their side can make it easier to engage, talk and feel part of a community again.

Veterans, connection, companionship and dogs
what a combination! ❤️🐾
