Flackwild Heath Welcome! Flackwild Heath is a community project which began with the creation of 3 wildflower meadow patches on Green Dragon Lane in 2018.

We now have nearly 30 patches of seeds sown across the village and eagerly await the results in Spring 2020!

Now would be a great time to cut and tidy your plots ready for winter.

Buckinghamshire Council have agreed to help by mowing all plots on their next scheduled day of cutting. That’s a big help if you need it. 😃

Funny how nature just works…

This plot started and really struggled from the beginning, several years ago. Dry, exposed, harsh.

It was only ever seeded once and then the family moved away and it was left to do its own thing.

This is probably the most natural plot we have in the village and perhaps my favourite too.

Yellow Rattle weakened the grasses just enough for the Oxeye Daisies to establish. Exactly how it should be.

Nature.
Brilliant isn’t it. 🙂
