Free No-Dig Workshop!

We are very excited to be welcoming people to another free workshop at the Grow Together Bucks Community Allotment on Monday 7th September at 6pm. Our expert growers will talk you through the No-Dig methods that can be really helpful to reduce the amount of backbreaking work involved in growing crops as well as nurturing healthy soils that can lead to successful growing in a nature friendly way.

We've got some exciting news to share 🎉

Chiltern Rangers has just submitted a planning application for The Barns, a proposed new permanent home for the team at Abbey Barn South in High Wycombe.

It's been quite a journey. Back in 2013 we were just two members of staff. Today we're a team of 16, looking after 126 sites across Buckinghamshire and the wider Chilterns, working alongside thousands of volunteers, schools and businesses every year. Our current site has served us brilliantly, but we've simply outgrown it, and we're increasingly having to turn people away who want to get involved.

The Barns will change that. It's designed to be a genuine community hub as well as our operational base, with space for workshops, teaching and local groups to work alongside us. And because it's a Chiltern Rangers project, sustainability runs through the whole design - native hedgerows, a wildlife pond, solar panels and rainwater harvesting are all part of the plan.

We're really excited about what this means for local nature and our community and we'll be sharing more as things progress. Thank you, as always, for your support.

This was taken at Keep Hill in High Wycombe yesterday.

We’ve been polite thus far, but we’re at the end of that tether… people PLEASE stop lighting fires in the woods.

Parents - if your kids come home smelling of bonfire or if their clothes in the washing basket smell of bonfire - challenge them!
Don’t get fobbed off, they are putting lives and property and wildlife at great risk.

Kids - if your parents suggest having a bonfire or bbq in the woods, tell them Chiltern Rangers says no!!

Help get the message through, this has serious implications. Watch the news every channel and platform.
Over 120 firefighters on a fire in New Forest, the latest in a line of hundreds of wildfires, the vast majority started by careless, thoughtless human activity.

It’s a drought, an entire month without meaningful rain, a fifth heatwave.

Logs will likely not stop the flames and guess what, they’ll make it worse - they will store the heat and combust once you’ve walked off. Sparks from the fire could easily land in tinder dry grass nearby and whoof 🔥
Oh and take your litter too🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬.

Why have we become such as selfish society? Who genuinely thinks this kind of behaviour is ok???
Please, it has to stop.
Otherwise you risk burning down the very place you enjoy spending time in.
