June is the Month of Community 💚

It’s a chance to celebrate the people that make our communities so special.

All across the UK, people are coming together to say thank you, meet neighbours, support good causes, welcome others in, reduce loneliness, celebrate volunteers, support carers, take action for nature and share food and friendship.

Two million people are expected to come together this June for Great Big Green Week, and we want you to be one of them.

Running from 6 to 14 June, Great Big Green Week is the UK’s only mass moment for nature and climate. Together for good, WIs are working for a fair green future, shaped by local voices, rooted in community, and mindful of the different impacts people face.

Organise an event, join one near you, or help spread the word. Whatever you do, you’re part of showing what communities across the UK can achieve when they come together for good.

Hexham Town Women’s Institute has marked its 10th anniversary with a special celebration.

We have received an invitation to the Moorland Group (Hexhamshire, Langley, Shotley, Slaley, Newton & Bywell WIs) "Pop-up Shop and Fun Fashion Show" at Hexham Mart, 7pm on Friday 15th May. Tickets, £5pp, can be bought at the door. Family and friends are very welcome too.
