Happy Pride Month 🖤🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

Y’all know we love to be an inclusive venue all year round.

Will we shout about this every year? Yes. Pride is a protest. Pride month is necessary because acceptance is still conditional. Inclusivity is needed more than ever.

We’ve been proudly registered with Ask For Clive since we opened our doors (you’ve probably seen the little sticker in our window that Mary is looking at). We want everyone to know that we are a safe space, and that everyone* deserves to be safe, seen and welcome whenever they step foot through our doors, which is what Ask For Clive’s vision is.

We are also proud to have the support of Beyond Reflections & People's Pride Southampton - two incredible local charities who help us run our Trans+ social evenings.

So happy pride month one and all - and remember, if you love freedom but don’t care if it applies to everyone, what you actually love is privilege.

*Everyone except people who are arguing with someone else’s existence

This coming Saturday, we are proud to highlight and support Ask For Clive - the initiative that originated here in St Albans and has since gained national recognition, now championed by the Night Time Industries Association (NTIA)

Together with the NTIA CIC, the Ask For Clive campaign, collaborates with venues and organisations to promote LGBTQ+ inclusion, create welcoming spaces, and enforce a zero-tolerance policy against LGBTQ+ discrimination and hate. It is not just a campaign; it’s a force for change.

To celebrate this significant home-grown initiative, we are hosting a fundraising performance by Ukie TooNes, who will be playing in support of YAWN (Young Adults With Needs) and Ask For Clive with bucket collections going to both organisations.
