The Battle of Rorke's Drift in 1879 was a significant conflict during the Anglo-Zulu War. It was made famous in modern times by the 1964 film Zulu starring Michael Caine, its most famous line delivered by Nigel Green who plays the Colour Sergeant in the British Army. Nick Heath is getting ready to embark on his 360 mile walking route, starting this Monday, re-tracing the steps of William the Conqueror in 1066 on his 360-mile campaign trail from Pevensey Bay, via Berkhamsted, and on to Westminster Abbey.

His latest blog post details how he is preparing, including packing and training. You can follow his progress day by day by subscribing to his blog at Letjog (dot co dot uk).

Our campaign to is featured in today's Sunday Times! Thank you to everyone who made this happen and to those who came along earlier this month for the photos on the Fields.

Spanning eight pages, you can read the article in the physical paper today, or on the digital subscription version. There's a flash sale of £1 for 3 months currently (but remember to cancel it if you don't want to continue at a higher rate 😏).

The piece tells the story brilliantly: from the generous £500,000 interest-free loan to buy the fields, and how the town has rallied to pay it back.

We're well on the way, but the clock is ticking. The loan needs repaying by next September, and every square sponsored is protected for good.
