I've been approached by someone interested in tracking down relatives of Mrs Litten, a former caretaker at the Hall. The gentleman concerned apparently ran a children's dance class at the hall in the 70's, he devised a dance for her called Mrs Litten's Reel, has collated various dances he created including that one and would like to include a photo of her. If anyone is able to help please get in touch with me and I can make an introduction.

The Parish Council will be meeting at 7:30pm on Thursday 18 December in the Church Room and in order of priority invites everyone to join them for drinks and nibbles after the meeting. But there is a meeting first - and the agenda can be downloaded at https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Yz34cs7BRdDtFMU3BAldsop_2iWX9T1k/view?usp=sharing. There's some interesting stuff to discuss including the results of the raised platform survey (96% in favour!), a proposal to increase allotment rents and an outline planning application for three self/custom builds at the end of Hempstead Lane. And did I mention that there will be drinks afterwards?

The Parish Council has arranged a CPR/defibrillator training session on Saturday 10 January at 10:30am in the Church Room. I've attended a couple of these sessions run by the same trainer in the past - she is excellent. If you've not been on one of these courses before, you should, and even if you have, a refresher is well worth the time. They're free. If you'd like to attend please let me know by emailing [email protected]

For those unable to attend, here's a brief summary of the HertsLynx presentation at the Parish Council on 20/3.

There are currently three operational buses with one in reserve handling approximately 100 trips per day. Over the next few months this will increase to five buses (still with one still in reserve).

HertsLynx have identified that they have overestimated journey times and believe that this is the main cause of customers being told that buses are not available, when they are, and of buses operating at low capacity. They are working on a software upgrade to increase the efficiency of the booking system.

They are looking at extending the limited fixed time service currently operating between Castle Village and Berkhamsted to include Potten End.

There was a change of policy after the service was launched and pets are now allowed on the buses at the discretion of the driver - that's a standard caveat for public transport and HertsLynx aren't aware of it being applied.

A good session with HertsLynx clearly open to feedback.
