🦁🦒 A Wild Day Out at Hertfordshire Zoo! 🦖🐾

Our residents enjoyed a fantastic day out at Hertfordshire Zoo yesterday, accompanied by our wonderful Mountbatten Lodge staff! 💚

There were plenty of smiles, laughter and excitement as everyone explored the zoo, took in the sights and even came face-to-face with some rather impressive dinosaurs! 🦖😄

Days like these are so important — getting out, enjoying the fresh air, experiencing something different and, most importantly, making wonderful memories together. 🥰

A huge thank you to our amazing staff who accompanied and supported our residents throughout the day, helping to make outings like this possible. 💕👏

🌍POSTCARDS FROM AROUND THE WORLD 🌍

We’re excited to be taking part in Quantum Care’s ‘Postcards From Around the World’ campaign this September! Inspired by today’s World Letter Writing Day, we’re inviting people from all around the world to pick up a pen and send a handwritten postcard to our care home.

Our challenge? To receive postcards from as many different countries as possible! As the postcards arrive, our residents will add a sticker to the world map displayed in our home, ticking off each country we receive a postcard from 💌

And there’s a little friendly competition too! We’ll be competing against other Quantum Care homes, with the winning home being the one that receives postcards from the highest number of different countries.

If you, your family or friends live anywhere around the world, or you’re going on holiday in the near future, we’d love you to send a handwritten postcard to our residents. Please share this post and help us spread the word! Let’s see how many countries we can reach together.

🐾🐶 National Dog Day at Mountbatten Lodge! 🐶🐾

Last week, we celebrated National Dog Day with two very special four-legged visitors – the gorgeous Stitch and Lola! ❤️

🐕 Stitch belongs to our Activity Care Worker Adele’s daughter, while beautiful Lola belongs to our Care Worker Elaine.

Our residents and staff absolutely loved having them visit! There were plenty of cuddles, smiles and lots of attention for our furry guests. 🥰🐾

Visits from animals can bring so much joy and comfort to our residents, sparking wonderful conversations and happy memories of much-loved pets from over the years. 💕🐶

A huge thank you to Adele’s daughter and Elaine for sharing Stitch and Lola with us and helping us celebrate National Dog Day in such a lovely way!

We asked our wonderful residents at Mountbatten Lodge one simple question… “If you could do it again, what would you do?” 🥰

Their answers brought plenty of smiles, laughter and some lovely memories! ❤️

It’s always so special taking the time to reminisce, share stories and learn even more about the amazing lives our residents have lived. 💕✨

A huge CONGRATULATIONS to our wonderful housekeeper Naheid, who passed her driving test yesterday! 🥳👏🚘

We couldn’t let such a fantastic achievement go by without celebrating! 💐 We surprised Naheid with some flowers and a few car accessories ready for her new adventures on the road! 🚗✨

At Mountbatten Lodge, we believe it’s so important to celebrate our staff — not only for the amazing work they do within the home, but for their personal achievements and special milestones too. 💗

We’ve had a wonderful time celebrating our lovely Sabina’s birthday here at Mountbatten Lodge! 🥳💗

Sabina enjoyed some special visits from her family and, of course, we made sure she was thoroughly spoilt and made a big fuss of by everyone at the home! 🎈🎁🥰

A huge thank you to our amazing Tracey, who once again went the extra mile and created a fantastic Bob Marley-themed birthday cake especially for Sabina! As well as getting her her very own head band!🎂🇯🇲🎶

It couldn’t have been more perfect, as Sabina is always singing one of her favourites…

🌊🩷 A Truly Special Day & a Heartfelt Thank You 🩷🌊

Yesterday, our lovely Frances enjoyed a wonderful trip to the seaside – a day that became even more special when her son shared that he never thought his mum would get the opportunity to see the sea again. 🥹🌊

Following the trip, Frances’ son very kindly made an incredibly generous £100 donation to our Amenities Fund as a thank you. We are so grateful for such a thoughtful gesture. 🩷

Moments like these remind us just how important it is to create meaningful experiences for our residents. A trip to the seaside might seem like a simple day out, but for Frances and her family, it meant so much more. ✨

A huge thank you once again to our amazing staff who work so hard to make these days possible – supporting our residents to get out into the community, revisit special places, make new memories and continue experiencing all that life has to offer. 🥰

This is what person-centred care is all about – making moments matter. 💕🌊

🌍📮 POSTCARDS FROM AROUND THE WORLD! 📮🌍

Mountbatten Lodge is taking part in the “Postcards From Around the World” challenge throughout September and October, and we need YOUR help! ✈️💌

The challenge is simple: we want to receive handwritten postcards from as many different countries as possible! 🌎 The campaign celebrates the wonderful art of handwritten communication and gives our residents an opportunity to explore different countries and cultures.

🌴 Going on holiday? Send us a postcard!
👨‍👩‍👧 Have family or friends living abroad? Ask them to send one!
✈️ Know someone travelling somewhere exciting? Spread the word!

As our postcards arrive, our residents will be plotting them on our world map, discovering where they have travelled from and using them to spark conversations about travel memories, food, music, traditions and famous landmarks. 🗺️❤️

🏆 And there’s a challenge involved!
The home that receives postcards from the most countries will win a prize!

So… HOW FAR AROUND THE WORLD CAN MOUNTBATTEN LODGE GET? 🌍📍

🌊☀️ A DAY AT THE SEASIDE – SOUTHEND! 🍦🐚

What a fantastic day out our residents and staff from Mountbatten Lodge had at sunny Southend-on-Sea! 💙

There’s nothing quite like a traditional seaside day, and we made the most of every moment! Our residents enjoyed some delicious fish and chips by the sea 🐟🍟, dipped their toes in the water 🌊 and, of course, no trip to the seaside would be complete without a yummy ice cream! 🍦😋

A huge THANK YOU to Adele, Cheryl, Jamie, Nancy and Jim’s daughter Nicola for helping to make today possible. Your time, support and kindness meant our residents could enjoy such a special day out. 🥰

A great day was had by all – we’re already looking forward to our next adventure! ☀️🌊🐚
