KPYT is bringing to Kingsley the famous and funny autobiographical story of West End Musical Theatre star and social-media sensation Rob Madge; "My Son's a Q***r (But What Can You Do?)" premiered originally in 2021, moved to the Edinburgh Festival, played a national tour followed by two West End runs and a Broadway season in New York and is about to begin it's farewell West End run; so we are fortunate to have the performing rights to bring this to Kingsley.
KPYT alumnus Benjamin Mather-Dodd takes the role of Madge. Benjamin has just finished his training at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where he achieved a First in Musical Theatre Performance
The story: When Rob Madge (West End Musical Theatre star and social-media sensation) was a child, they had a dream: to stage their very own Disney parade in their living room. Years later, Rob looks back at that childhood ambition, their family, growing up, and what it means to be yourself.
Funny, heartfelt and full of theatrical imagination, My Son's a Q***r (But What Can You Do?) is a celebration of family, acceptance and the joy of being unapologetically yourself.
