We have loved Mums In Company and all of the work involved in trying to make it work, both for you and ourselves. Meeting up with you filled our cups and spurred us on both in MIC work and in our businesses outside of MIC. We are so grateful for all of your support over the last 18 months. But we also know that running a business is about more than just feeling good whilst doing the things.

When we started, we set clear goals for what we wanted MIC to accomplish, and we’ve been tracking those goals as we worked toward them. We celebrated our wins; we made changes when things didn’t seem to be working; and we asked for help when we needed it. But the harsh reality is that our vision just isn’t coming to fruition.

At this point, we are stopping our events and closing down Mums In Company, CIC. What this means for you is that you will no longer see us in your inbox or in your social media feed. We’ve already reached out directly to our paying members to explain the situation. However, if you have any questions, please feel free to email us directly. Our MIC email addresses and website will remain live for another two months as we go through the administrative processes of closing down.

We wish you all the luck in your business endeavours and motherhood. And please do not hesitate to say hi if you see us out and about. We still love to hear about what you are up to!

📔 Getting back to my Bullet Journal practice 📔
It’s a new month, and I am using it as an opportunity for a new start. I wrote a bit about my recommitment to my Bullet Journal practice in this week’s MIC newsletter (🔗to sign up in the bio).
But the long and short of it is that I’m using the new tools offered on The Bullet Journal Website to get my practice back on track.
Today’s task is to set an intention, the “why” for my BuJo.
Here’s mine:
To strengthen my relationships with myself, my family, and my friends.

New Month, New Theme for Mums In Company! Let’s Get Social about Social Media 💬

Whether we like it or not, social media is a key part of any small business marketing strategy. We're going to spend the month focusing on social media: how to use it, what we like about it, what we don't like about it, and how to manage it without letting it take over.

Not all business owners are trained communicators. But that doesn’t change our need to communicate effectively, whether that be in creating content for your website, marketing messages for social media, or just writing an email to a client.

How many times have you sat staring at a screen trying to figure out just the right wording to say what you mean? We’ve lost count!

This month, our focus is Crafting Your Message so we can all get a little better at getting the right message across to the right people.

We’ll use Bullet Journaling to practice being concise. We have communication specialist Jude Faultless presenting a workshop on how to Make Sales Without Feeling Like You’re Selling. And we’re co-working for the first time, where we’ll have the time and space to work on these messages surround by supportive people ready to give you feedback or the gentle nudge to give it a go.

You don’t need to figure out every aspect of running a business on your own. We’ve gathered the resources, you can just come along and see what’s useful to you.
