We are so proud to be the home of The Harrogate Story — an exhibition detailing the rich heritage of our wonderful town!

The exhibition is largely a legacy of Malcolm Neesham — the late historian — from which much of the fascinating content therein stems. Thanks to the brilliant input of local organisations, the space has grown to cover beloved local points of interest such as The Turkish Baths, the horticultural history of Harrogate, and we even spill the tea about Harrogate's close ties with the nation's favourite drink! ☕

Once you're done exploring, you can visit our coffee shop to enjoy a cup of tea and a delicious slice of cake with us. Pop in this week to discover something new about the town we love.

The promenade, foyer and staircase decorations of the Kursaal (Royal Hall) were always suitably lower in key than those of the main hall, but here, too, were fine marble linings, modelled plaster, Lincrusta, stencilled and painted friezes, terrazzo floors and stained glass. To enjoy a promenader's experience why not join us on Sunday 21st June when the Royal Hall Restoration Trust will host the next open day. Doors open at 10am and close at 4pm. Our very popular tours will take place at 11am and 2pm and booking is highly recommended.
