This weekend we have had multiple teams playing in the Wetherby gala, which was another weekend of fabulous football across the ages. There were some great performances and some tense moments at the knockout stage games and penalty shootouts.
Highlights include the U6 boys first experience of a tournament like this, which they loved despite the heat. There were many semi finals for our teams, showing a superb standard of football, and many final appearances. We had several overall trophy winners, starting yesterday we had our U7 boys who had entered two teams, who had to play each other in the semifinals, with one team going on to win overall. We then had our U9 girls who again entered two teams, with one going out on a penalty shootout in the semis and the other becoming overall winners. Today we had our U14 boys who were crowned the champions, a fabulous feat given their win last week at the Killinghall gala. Then finally we have our U14 girls who were eventual runners up after facing a tight penalty shootout in the final.
