Really excited to be partnering with HATS on the wonderful project!💙

💙 WORLD SU***DE PREVENTION DAY | You Will Be Found

Today, on World Su***de Prevention Day, HATS are proud to announce that we will be partnering with Young Concern Trust (YCT) during our production of Dear Evan Hansen this October.

At the heart of Dear Evan Hansen are themes of mental health, loneliness, connection and the importance of reaching out. We knew from the beginning that we wanted this production to be about more than what happens on stage.

Throughout the run, HATS will be raising money for YCT, supporting the vital work they do with children and young people in our local community.

But we also want to use the conversations created by Dear Evan Hansen to help people discover the support that is available right here in Harlow.

💙 Introducing The Connection Hub

Before every performance, the mezzanine at Harlow Playhouse will become The Connection Hub.

We’ll be joined by YCT and several other local mental health charities and organisations, giving audiences and members of our community the opportunity to meet them, learn more about the work they do and, most importantly, find out how they or someone they care about can access support.

Sometimes the hardest part can simply be knowing where to turn.

We hope The Connection Hub can help make that first step a little easier.

We’ll be announcing the organisations joining us and sharing more details about The Connection Hub over the coming weeks.

Today, on World Su***de Prevention Day, we want to reinforce one of the most important messages at the heart of our production:

💙 You are not alone. You Will Be Found.

Every child deserves the chance to thrive, not just survive.

Children and young people should not have to face difficult feelings and experiences alone.

With the right support, they can begin to understand their emotions, recognise their strengths and find new ways forward.

At YCT Support, we provide counselling, play therapy and creative therapeutic support, giving each young person the space to express themselves and engage at their own pace.

Because every child deserves more than simply getting through today. They deserve to feel seen, heard and supported—and to look towards the future with hope.

Please share this message if you agree.

Therapeutic support where young people need it.

YCT Support works in partnership with schools and colleges to provide accessible, professional therapeutic support within familiar education settings.

Because every school community is different, support can be tailored around the needs of students, staff and existing pastoral structures. Our service can include:

Individual counselling, play therapy and creative therapies
Groups and workshops addressing anxiety, emotional regulation, school avoidance, exam stress, transitions, bereavement and self-esteem
Parent and carer support
Staff reflection sessions, consultation and support programmes
Critical-incident and crisis-response support

Our qualified, professionally registered therapists are enhanced DBS checked, safeguarding trained, aligned with current KCSIE guidance, fully insured and clinically supervised. They work closely with pastoral, SEND, safeguarding and senior leadership teams.

Schools working with YCT frequently report improved student engagement, greater emotional stability, strengthened pastoral support and positive changes in confidence, relationships and emotional regulation.

Behind every session is a trained, registered therapist.

At YCT Support, children and young people are supported by appropriately qualified professionals experienced in talking therapy, play therapy, art therapy and other creative therapeutic approaches.

Our therapists are registered with the BACP, HCPC or an equivalent recognised professional body and undertake enhanced DBS checks. They work within professional and ethical standards to provide a safe, confidential and supportive space where each young person can engage at their own pace.

Because the person behind the support matters.

Not all therapy looks like talking.

Sometimes it looks like painting.

Sometimes it looks like play.

Sometimes it is simply sitting beside a trusted adult until the words feel possible.

Children and young people communicate in different ways. That is why YCT Support offers talking therapy, play therapy and creative therapeutic approaches—giving each young person a way to be heard that feels right for them.

Did you know therapy could look like this?

If you could tell a young person who is nervous about starting counselling just one thing, what would it be?

Your words could make all the difference to a child or young person who is wondering whether to take that first step.

If you feel comfortable, share your message of encouragement in the comments below. Together, we can help show young people that they are not alone and that asking for help is a sign of strength.

Every child has a story, and sometimes the behaviours we see are only a small part of what they are carrying inside.

This Story of Change follows the journey of a young child who came to YCT Support struggling with overwhelming emotions, anger and challenges both at home and at school. Through the safety of play therapy, a trusting therapeutic relationship and the opportunity to express feelings that had been hidden for so long, remarkable changes began to emerge.

This story is a powerful reminder that when children are given the right support, understanding and space to be heard, hope can shine through.

To protect the child's privacy, some details have been changed, but the impact of the journey remains real.

Read the full Story of Change on our website and discover how early therapeutic support can make a lasting difference in the lives of children and families.
