This little bunch of pirates came skating today and then went on a pirate adventure collecting treasure - goodie bag, stickers, pirate hat, eye patch and much more from 10 stores in Halifax. A great free adventure for children set up by Discover Halifax UK. You can still pick up treasure maps from the Halifax YMCA. If you are near the Borough Market be careful as there are some pirate shenanigans going on.☠️☠️

SPOTTED ON THE TRAIL! 🏴‍☠️👀

We got quite the surprise when this crew of young buccaneers turned up at the Discover Halifax Hub to tell us how much they’ve been enjoying our Lost Loot Treasure Trail!

They’ve loved exploring different parts of Halifax, collecting their loot and visiting the friendly businesses taking part along the way. 💜

We also have to say just how polite and well-mannered they all were! It’s been so lovely seeing so many children and families out enjoying the trail this summer.

And the pirate fun isn’t over yet…

Tomorrow, our Sea Shanty Singers are roaming Halifax!

What an amazing 6 weeks of fun, laughter and skating! 🛼🎉

A huge thank you to Shelf Out of School Club, and especially Andrea, Shaun and the whole team, for bringing the children along and making the summer so much fun.

This is the Halifax YMCA Free uniform service on Crossley street only not the Charity shop on Silver street. The YMCA Charity shop is taking all clothing and Bric a Brac donations. Please do not drop off any uniforms at the charity shop.

A little step back in time… 1960!
Here’s a fantastic old photograph of the Halifax YMCA Pantomime Society out promoting Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs back in 1960.
We believe this may have been taken during a local Gala procession, but we’re not sure whether it was the Halifax Charity Gala or Brighouse Gala.
Can anyone recognise the street, shops or surroundings and help us identify exactly where it was taken?
We’d love to hear from anyone who remembers it or can solve the mystery!
