Hi Guys.
I have been informed by our Chairman John Wood that he has had a 5" gauge 14xx STOLEN!!! boiler number SCM001.
It was stolen along with other loco's from Kingscale, while in for service. More details will follow.
If anyone is offered this or other loco's please let the police know.

Early start for Lucas today doing his litter pick, then as members started to arrive a lot of moving things in and out of the shed and container, then a lot of re-arranging was done. Thanks to member Philip for moving the heavy tables down and putting them somewhere else where they are now more assessable for the members to get out. Big wooden box sorted through and the contents transferred on to a shelf to themselves, giving us a lot more room. Leaves everywhere but because of the wind we were unable to pick a lot up, so hopefully on Sunday wind may have died down so we can tackle it. Question for you all "How many GMMES engineers does it take to put the cover on a ceiling fire alarm"? Chuckle, 4 would you believe.

Wow, 4 more Sundays and then the one after that is the 6th December and our first run where we welcome Santa to the site. His elves have been busy and today I received the first bag of presents, 5 more sacks to come.

Nice surprise for members this morning with a hydraulic check on a Jubilee 5 inch loco still in the building stage. Sadly a few leaks found and to be looked at. Christmas lights all checked and more decorations found to be sorted. Member George did a great job sweeping and bagging up the leaves, lots of official paperwork done and not forgetting Lucas up bright and early getting the litter pick out of the way before making us all a cuppa

Well the weather was indeed a welcome change from the weekend and members were hard at work on the site today. The never ending job of picking up the leaves on site has started, with 5 large bags filled today and of course grass cutting. The Halloween decorations have been packed away, and the Christmas decorations will gradually be brought out to sort through for this years display. Members were hard at work replacing light bulbs, clearing and making space for trolley to go in Steaming shed. Other members were busy making shelves, which we needed under a work table, getting it clear so we can use it. We have come across TWO unopened and TWO opened boxes of 44 white tiles all new 150mm x 150mm whilst having a clear out, few with corners damaged. IF ANYBODY is interested in taking them off our hands please contact our secretary [email protected] OR come to the site on Sunday after 10.30am - FREE

THE GMMES SITE IS NOW CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC ON A SUNDAY for maintenance work until we re-open when SANTA will be visiting us on the 6th & 13th December from 1pm. So put the dates in your diary folks. Tickets cost £2 each which includes adults - ONE train ride, 1 mince pie, mulled w**e, tea or coffee, children ONE train ride, visit Santa (take your own photo) a soft drink, 1 cake or biscuits and a small gift.
All small gifts given out this year are bought with donations from friends and neighbours throughout the year, so without them we could not continue to hand gifts out, so a HUGE THANK YOU to everybody who has contributed this year.

Well what a windy day, but I would just like to say that all the members at GMMES truly appreciate you taking the time to join us for our Halloween Run and hope you all enjoyed yourselves as much as we did. Video shows first drivers out on the track braving the elements, Lucas and Nick.

Well folks, it may be wet and windy out there tonight BUT we have checked tomorrow Sunday 25th OCTOBER forecast and WE WILL BE RUNNING OUR HALLOWEEN LOCOS - YAY - so dress up warm and see you all there. Dress up, scare us and you will get 1 (one) free ride at THE MODEL RAILWAY, INSIDE CASCADES LEISURE CENTRE, THONG LANE, GRAVESEND, RIDE ON OUR STEAM AND DIESEL/ELEC. LOCOS from 1pm until 4pm last ticket 3.50pm.
50P A RIDE for everyone – CASH ONLY- SORRY NO CARDS ACCEPTED
