at the Model Railway, and enjoy a train ride on our steam and diesel locos from 1:00pm until 4:00pm (last ticket issued at 3.50pm) at our track in the grounds of the Cascades Leisure Centre, Thong Lane Gravesend DA12 4LG. Rides for everyone are 50p, CASH ONLY – sorry no cards. Afterwards visit the kid’s park.

Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn, it’s official, we are now having to pick up loads of fallen leaves at the site, a job for 2 of our members with their blower, bagging them up and disposing of them. Hopefully no more sweeping by hand for us oldies. Another day of all coming together and sorting through “stuff” we no longer need, so putting aside for scrap, take to tip or giving to member Ed who takes the old tools to a local charity who cleans them up and sends them to countries in need. The last of the work was finished on the Santa sleigh and now safely hidden away until Santa visits the site. Whilst 2 other members replaced the rotten piece of wood in the station area. Just a lot of labelling up to do now. Thank you to Lucas who did the litter pick, and kept the tea flowing, and his mum for the lovely tomatoes they have grown in abundance at home and shared them with us.

With the fire risk lowered we are happy to tell you all, we will resume running steam locos as from next Sunday, but with additional measures in place. Well another great day sailing with the Sheppey Club lads today. Good weather, good food, lots of chatting and laughing. Our GMMES tug and Fireboat ran well after an issue with batteries. It was the maiden voyage for our fireboat (not completed yet) and one of the youngsters there had a great time sailing it, but we need to get some weight into it. Thank you SHEPPEY for an entertaining and relaxing day. See you all on Sunday at our track in Cascades for loco rides. "Anchors away"

Well at long last we have had another section of the perimeter fence replaced, at the site. Just one more section to clear off the ivy and hopefully get that done late 2027/28. Thank you to J. Dowle for getting this done for us, in hot temperatures and very hard ground to dig out for the postholes. Plus thank you to members Alan, Derek Frank & Nigel for being on site to give the workers tea and doing extra work on site.
