Gravesend Model Marine & Engineering Society The Gravesend Model Marine & Engineering Society is based at the Club's track in Cascades Leisure Ce Being dual gauge and as all riding trolleys are of 5in.

The Society currently has approximately 60 members of all ages and from all walks of life. Members interests range from garden gauge railways to 5" gauge and larger; from steam rollers and stationary steam engines to hotair engines. Alas, there are now only a very small number of members within the society active in marine modelling. The construction of our 1218ft track consists of mild steel fabricated rail sections, supported at interval on concrete 'A' frames. The 'A' frames also serve as supports for a continuous anti-tip rail. gauge. Both 3½" & 5" tracks are placed equally about the track centre line, ensuring that the locomotive is in line with the driving trolley regardless of the gauge of the loco. In the last few years, we have made significant changes to our site. The major change being a new club building; the old wooden structure was becoming very fragile and had no toilet facilities. We now have a new steel building complete with improved security and the much needed toilet. We have also recent installed a boiler water treatment system and pumped this to the station and steaming bays.

It's coming up to that time of year again 🎅

Santa is on his way to the railway at Cascades Leisure Centre, DA12 4LG

Please come along to see Santa on the 10th and 17th December from 1pm to 4pm.

We have a Tombola on both days.

Children's tickets are £2 each which includes a visit to visit Santa and 1 ride on the train 🎅🚂

Adult tickets are £2 each which includes hot drink, mince pie and a train ride ☕🚂

JOIN US AT THE MODEL RAILWAY Special Teddy Bear/Soft Toy Train rides Sunday 9th July 🐻
1pm until 4pm (last ticket 3.50pm) at our track in the grounds of Cascades Leisure Centre, Thong Lane, Gravesend.DA12 4LG (Weather permitting)

If you bring your favourite teddy, or soft toy you get your first ride absolutely free 👍

Ride on our Steam and Diesel/Electric locos
50P a RIDE – CASH ONLY- SORRY NO CARDS ACCEPTED

Plus visit the nearby kid’s playground, play ball, or sit and relax on the grass,
Listen out for the ice-cream man if the weather is fine 👍

Also keep an eye out for the spitfire if its passing over 👍

Hi everyone

Earlier today some of our members had to go up the railway as someone decided to fly - tip in front of the main gates to the big car park and we had to clear it away before we could use the car park 😡😡

Who ever it was who fly tipped in front of the gates...... THANKS A BUNCH 😡
