Our lotto is a great way of supporting the policing community at the same time as having the chance to win up to £1000 each month.

It may only be a £1 a month for you (or more if you are able) but to us and our patients, it makes a real impact to the care we can provide each and every day.

It felt like we went back in time today at Flint House.

As part of our research into the history of our charity and the places we have delivered care over the last 136 years, we have been so grateful to all the individuals who have shared their stories.

Local resident Tim Corbishley was kind enough to share his family links to Flint House in photographs of his father and uncle who knew the previous owner's daughter, Joan Whittington, as a cubs and scouts leader. He also brought a bit of that past with him when he visited in the shape of his Rolls Royce, the same model owned by Mr Whittington in the late 1920s.

It was amazing to hear about his family connections and the car, as well as have the chance to show him around Flint House as it is now.

aka Paul and Maple will be visiting Flint House this week – providing patients and staff with a ‘paws-itivity’ boost.

As well as heading out on their usual Wellbeing Walk, they will also take time to talk with patients and raise awareness of the importance of taking time for your mental health.

Our charity moved to our current home here at Flint House in Goring in June 1988 and we have been shaping our facilities to make them ‘fit for the future’ ever since.

From initial renovations to our current refurbishment work, the facilities have grown and improved to meet the needs of police rehabilitation and to address feedback from patients and staff.

Over the years, the changes have impacted on almost all areas of our charity from the clinical spaces and facilities to the bedrooms and social areas. They demonstrate our commitment to providing the best support we can to all those who need us and would not be possible without your kind donations.

To support us to continue to make a difference and be ‘fit for the future’, you can donate at https://www.flinthouse.co.uk/community-donations/

We would like to say a huge thank you to the team at Vertex Pharmaceuticals for choosing our charity through their Brave programme. They visited us last year on a volunteering day to take on some planting and painting around Flint House and then championed our charity on a staff fundraising day in March, raising £1000 in total across the two days.

It was a real pleasure to work with the team and show them the impact of their support while they were here.

Volunteering at Flint House has been a regular activity for our local Specialist SEN School, Brookfields, for the last 10 years and we are so grateful for all the support the students give to our staff and patients.

Our charity provides volunteering and work experience opportunities in our operations teams; with students getting involved in the kitchen, dining room and gardens once a week throughout the year. As well as learning new skills, the students also say that the experience helps them with teamwork, communication and problem solving.

The Employment Engagement Team from the school report that 'The team at Flint House have been incredibly welcoming, supportive and kind to our students, taking the time to understand their individual needs and helping them feel comfortable in a new environment. This nurturing approach has had a significant impact, enabling students to build confidence, develop independence and feel valued as part of a real workplace. Through these placements, students have benefited from positive role models, clear routines and encouragement'.

We would like to thank all the students, past and present, for their support this Volunteers' Week.

It was a pleasure to welcome the Lord-Lieutenant for Buckinghamshire, Lady Howe, and the Lord-Lieutenant for Berkshire, Mr Try, to Flint House today.

As well as touring our clinical facilities and meeting the physical rehab and mental health teams, it was a great opportunity to share information about how our charity has been supporting the police over the last 136 years and the difference we make to police wellbeing in the Thames Valley and across the South of the UK.
