Josie, our general manager, and Stacey, our garden manager, were invited to speak about Green Hub and the work we do at the Elstead Annual Parish Assembly, alongside other incredibly worthwhile local charities, including Huckleberries, whose aim through nature based learning is to help the wellbeing of younger children. You could say that our two charities are a complement and continuation of each other.
For such a small area, the double edged success of our charities highlights the lack of provision for mental health support for the younger generation and the daily struggle for so many local families.
Thank you to Cllr Jane Jacobs (pictured next to Josie), chair of Elstead PC and Cllr Gemma Long (pictured next to Stacy), Elstead and Peper Harrow Borough Council, for inviting us. Also pictured are Bev Cook, CEO of Huckleberries, with Mel, a volunteer (in the centre), and Cllr Gemma Long.
Thanks also to all the local people who attended and asked questions, including newly elected Phoebe Sullivan, Councillor for West Surrey Unitary Authority representing Waverley Western Villages.
