In their talk at the Autumn Festival, Government Envoy for the Tapestry Lord Peter Ricketts, Michael Lewis, Curator of the British Museum Bayeux exhibition and Janina Ramirez explored the challenges of displaying the Tapestry in London and its extraordinary history across the centuries.

It's a wet and windy week - perfect to stay in and stay cosy. You can still explore Britain's coastal villages from the comfort of home though.

Flying Archaeologist Ben Robinson, star of BBC Two series Villages by the Sea, joined us at the Autumn Festival for a fascinating journey through our coastal past. From bustling medieval ports and mighty sea defences to ancient fortifications, shipbuilding, fishing communities and the scars left by great industries, discover how Britain’s shores have shaped our history, our landscape and our national identity in a richly illustrated new talk.

Adrian Utley on stage with Philip Selway from Radiohead shares that cycling home after a Portishead recording session he listens to Radiohead, and listens with great admiration!

Their talk concluded the Autumn Festival and it was an absolute highlight.

Janina Ramirez opened her talk at the Autumn Festival by letting the audience in on a major secret while under a strict embargo and NDA.

Her exciting news has now been made public!

Audience members who joined us for her live talk in September were able to learn all about the project, but now you can too with a digital livestream ticket. Art From the Dawn of Time was a top-secret project that Janina spent the past year working on, taking her to thirty countries and the very origins of storytelling art.

Congratulations to Thomas Williams on the publication of his book God’s Hammer, which comes out today.

It was fantastic to welcome Thomas to the festival last month, where he introduced the book and revealed how Scandinavia transformed from a frontier of paganism into a major pillar of crusading Europe.

It was a delight to welcome Daniel Wilson of Great British Architecture to the festival for the first time. We enjoyed being able to hear all about his upcoming debut book, which comes out today: Bringing the World to Britain: Georgian and Victorian Architecture.
