Horrific footage which should be shocking, but unfortunately we're not surprised. The stag hunts (which also kill hinds between autumn and spring stag hunting) generally use the "Research and Observation" exemption under the Hunting Act 2004 to justify killing deer. But they have never been made to show any evidence of what research they're doing, so they've basically getting away with killing and telling the police (if they actually show up) that they're doing it for observation purposes. Absolutely sick that this suffering and cruelty continues under the guise of vague science.

Well done to whoever chose to leak this, and to the group who they chose to leak it to.

If you haven't yet filled in the consultation, please do so, and mention illegal stag hunting using a different smokescreen to that of those hunts that say they're "trail hunting" (the Tiverton Stag Hounds did tell us that they were trail hunting when we went out with them, which was a surprise as it's not an excuse either of the other stag hunts were using!)

Good work! Cub hunting will start again in some areas in August, autumn stag hunting will begin early August in a few weeks time, mink/otter hunting and other illegal hunting is ongoing all summer. Very important to fill in the consultation by 18th June.

TWO WEEKS TO GO - COVERT FOOTAGE PROVES A STRONGER DETERRENT IS NEEDED.

With two weeks to go before the consultation into strengthening the Hunting Act ends the HSA has obtained new footage which perfectly illustrates the need for a stronger deterrent to hunting wild mammals with dogs.

Covert cameras captured Grove & Rufford huntsman, Jacob Whalley, and terrierman Ste Reynolds interfering with an active badger sett prior to a cubbing meet last season. The 2025/26 season was Jacob Whalley’s first season as a huntsman, coming fresh from his position as whipper in at the Fitzwilliam Hunt. In July 2025, Whalley pleaded guilty to Hunting Act offences while at the Fitzwilliam.

The government must implement stronger penalties for those in breach of the Act as the current legislation is not enough of a deterrent. There cannot be any loopholes or exemptions for them to hide behind. In March 2026, a 20 year old male, Henry Collins; a fox-hunter with the East Cornwall Hunt viciously rode his horse into a female hunt saboteur from Kernow Sabs, Monitors and Animal Rights Team - Cornwall before launching into an unprovoked brutal attack beating her with his whip whilst atop his horse.

There are long established links between those who abuse animals, going onto inflict violence upon women and girls.

For a 20-year old to already display such violent misogynistic behaviour speaks volumes about the culture in which these thugs are raised.

Back in January 2026 we had a number of covert cameras up in various hunt countries, including within Heythrop Hunt areas. It was members of this hunt that were caught on our covert cameras over several weeks last summer dumping hundreds of chicken carcasses at feeding stations within Gloucestershire and we were keeping tabs on their more "everyday" activities over the rest of the season as well.

One of these covert cameras was up at an artificial earth in Sarsgrove Wood, within Oxfordshire, an area covered by Thames Valley Police and in January it picked up a fox being chased within the wood while sabs were being stalked by hunt members on nearby rights of way.

With just a few weeks left of the government's consultation on whether to get rid of the fox-hunting smokescreen that is "trail hunting" we 𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 - link in the comments to the fantastic advice given by the Hunt Saboteurs Association.

There are five weeks left to complete the government consultation into banning "trail hunting,"

On Saturday 9th May hundreds of people gathered outside the Houses of Parliament to send a very clear and very loud message; "trail hunting" is a lie and should be consigned to the history books.

There was an impressive line-up of speakers on the day as hunt sabs flags dominated the skyline. The message was very clear from everyone in attendance; this is the best chance we will get to make the Hunting Act fit for purpose and get rid of the "trail hunting" smokescreen.

Racists plan to come to our city, calling for 'mass deportations'.
Not in our city. This is Brighton. Not here, not anywhere.

Racists in so-called 'Patriots' groups have called the march in Brighton. These groups have harassed people at hotels housing migrant families, put up flags to intimidate people of colour, and violently attacked people taking flags down. Their call for 'mass deportations' is more than a dog whistle - it is an open call for the forced expulsion of non-white people.

But we will not stand by as they call for our friends, neighbours, colleagues and family to be ethnically cleansed from our beautiful, diverse communities.

The number of racists they can summon is limited, not least because of our proud tradition as an inclusive and welcoming place but for those that do show up: we intend to stop you from marching. We encourage all who oppose the racists to do the same, using whatever methods they feel comfortable with.

We want the day to be a carnival of creativity, a day where everyone feels welcome and it's a joy to take part, so please start organising for June 13 in any way you choose: let our collective response be as diverse as our city.

We call on every local group and neighbourhood and to every antifascist, anti-racist, and Anti Raids group across the country to join us on the streets of Brighton on June 13, to celebrate our resistance to racism and in defence of our city.

We've been in London today supporting the anti-hunt rally organised by the Hunt Saboteurs Association and League Against Cruel Sports alongside a number of other groups and individuals. Great speeches, great turnout, great energy.

We also attended a demonstration against torture and imprisonment of sea animals prior to the rally. Another good turnout there.
