Heythrop Hunt
Harford Hill Farm, Upper Slaughter, Glos

Sabs chanced upon the Heythrop as they made their way to Harford Hill Farm this morning. Ollie Street greeted us with some choice words before sticking to his usual routine of silent thunder-face staring from under his canopied quad. With a sab either side of the first couple of unnamed coverts to the north of the farm buildings, Master nail-biting huntsman Ollie Dale made a show of taking hounds through the bracken and undergrowth but with a camera pointed at the hounds he moved them on quite quickly. The young hounds were rambunctious today, with one in particular far more interested in playing with his pack-mates than what he was being told to do.

With the much-needed rain unceasing, hounds were taken back through the unnamed coverts and to the east, then across the road to a covert near Wales Barn. Josh Tierney, kennel huntsman, was unusually jovial as he told one sab he’d see him next Tuesday (C…U…). With both sabs still having their cameras on huntsman, hounds and field riders trying to hold up the slither of a covert by the barn it seems they decided to call it a day and hacked back to the meet just before 8am.

****Blatant cub hunting again with the Ledbury****🦊
****Riot on deer****
****Badger sett stood on*****🦡

Ledbury Hunt,
Monday 7th September 2026.
Gabdbury.

Herefordshire Hunt Sabs caught the hound box early this morning and we joined them at the meet at Gadbury Bank. This whole area was a badger cull zone ,Gloucestershire zone one, for 9 long years and this place was once full of cages and shooters but also sabs and patrollers stopping them.

Sam Jones, huntsman, put his hounds into a small unnamed wood by the B4208. This was held up by hunt followers to dissuade young foxes from escaping and hounds were both sides of this busy road before heading in the direction of Dobshill.

The pack being split into several smaller packs doing their own thing and chasing whoever they wanted became the theme of the morning. We could hear them on deer and in several different locations at once when they reached Downview. And local people were none too happy.

They spent an age in Staunton Coppice and an age trying to get the pack together. At one stage 2 hounds were though to be marking to ground at a well known badger sett which was then stood on by three men claiming to be having a p*e. This sett was hard blocked by the Ledbury Hunt in 2012 and was on national news as camera crews were nearby covering the badger cull. Standing on the sett stops foxes escaping down it.

They carried on til 10am.

Saturday 5th September 2026
The Cotswold Hunt
Thorndale, Foxcote, Glos

With Mendip Hunt Sabs

This morning, we found the Cotswold Hunt out early at 6.30am in Foxcote, a favourite meet of theirs. With 2 foot teams in position, we had eyes on them to their first draw of Foxcote Gorse, close to the car park on open access land and very close to a fast stretch of the A436 with multiple blind bends and dips. Legitimate drag hunts are keen to publicise how they don’t lay trails through coverts or crops, areas likely to hold foxes and other wildlife. Not the Cotswold Hunt, who, while insisting they were following a trail, hounds were encouraged to search the gorse while the huntsman Anthony Millar deployed tongue rolling and shouts to try to disturb any foxes that may be hiding up within. After hounds spoke briefly, the hunt ran into our other foot team and the hounds were called back.

They moved off south at sp*ed and were caught up with after having drawn a small covert near the medieval village at Thorndale, where host Bessie complained about our “revolting” sabs. The heat rising and thus the scent dropping, we walked back with the hunt to the meet and watched them box up.

This meet at Foxcote is just down the road from Rupert Lowe MP’s farm in Withington. Rupert Lowe leads the far-right Restore Britain party, who, while advocating for banning abortion up to birth (which already isn’t legal by the way, the current law has only removed the criminal penalties for women who end their own pregnancies… because being in poor mental health is not a crime), are also advocating for the death penalty. We’d like to reiterate our strongly anti-fascist position and remind any of our readers on the far-right that all of the right and far-right parties are pro-hunting. The rhetoric of othering human beings seeking shelter, deeming them illegal and every one of them criminals, opens us all to abuse and violence as it emboldens those willing to cause harm to anyone they deem as different.

¡No pasarán!

North Cotswold Hunt, Friday 4th September 2026.
Mooching about up on the Banks.

With the late "meet" at 8ish and them professing they were just on exercise and nothing more than that seen by the sab' who saw them we do not think they were doing anything else such as chasing foxes. They will be soon.

Quite a few early mornings this week watching for cub hunting. Please keep an eye out and call it in.

****Blatant cub hunting as new huntsman takes over****

Ledbury Hunt,
Wednesday 2nd September 2026. 06.30.
Kennels, Bromsberrow.
With Herefordshire Hunt Sabs

After over a decade with Mark Meladay (now back with the Flint and Denbigh) we now have the new huntsman to contend with. Sam Jones is no stranger to controversy as he has come from the Cottesmore with a bit of a reputation.

first draw was Eggs Tump at the back of the kennels by the M50. Not much happened there. One hound picked up a bit on a hare but they left there fairly quick. Next was a small covert nearby that usually holds a fox but they took the pack into a huge field of maize. Predictably the pack split with several different hunts in progress. One young fox was seen leaving the maize and escaping by the 3C sab as the Herefordshire sab kept an eye on most of the pack to the west. Saddle slapping was heard, this is an attempt to intimidate younger foxes from escaping, the practice of "holding up". Not something you should hear if they are using the exemptions under the current Hunting Act.

They eventually gathered the pack and there was a brief riot on deer just north before they went through hedgerows around King's Green. Packing up just after 9am.

Saturday 29th August 2026... The Evening!
Cotswold Hunt - Gaskill's Farm, Miserden, Glos
with Cirencester Illegal Hunt Watch and independent

In our second half and hit number 2 of the day, our sabs, now including 2 new recruits, headed down into Gloucestershire and found the Cotswold Hunt somewhere we didn't think they'd have the guts to be... Gaskill Farm, the meet where three years ago sabs from Cirencester Illegal Hunt Watch found a bagged fox (read about it here: https://www.huntsabs.org.uk/cotswold-hunt-keep-bagged-fox-inside-artificial-earth-ready-to-be-hunted/).

Faces dropped at the meet as we appeared in number and what followed was a cautious trot through the woods at Misarden Park, Winstone Hill and Winstone Wood before returning to the farm for burgers and commiserations of a spoiled afternoon's cubbing.

Given they are supposed to be banned from the Miserden Estate, they had to be extra careful not to be seen hunting while they were on the estate. It's also worth noting that Mr M R Little Esq. is back from his 2-year BHSA ban on Mastership and is once again a Master with the Cotswold Hunt.

We urge that our supporters write to their MPs asking when the Hunting Act consultation and following legislation will take place.

Saturday 29th August 2026
Warwickshire Hunt - Eastwood Farm, Shenington

After early morning kennel checking, we were alerted by our pals at West Midlands Hunt Saboteurs to the Warwickshire meeting at 7am. We made our way over to assist and found them circling a small patch of land south of Shenington with hounds scattered, not under direct control of the hunt. They packed up around 9.45am. This is our first hit of the season.

‼️ 𝑻𝑨𝑲𝑬 𝑨𝑪𝑻𝑰𝑶𝑵 𝑻𝑼𝑬𝑺𝑫𝑨𝒀 ‼️

Did you know roughly 10,000,000 birds reared for shooting arrive in the UK every year via “Le Shuttle”!

That’s right, the UK imports almost a quarter of the total of pheasant and partridge destined to be shot on UK game farms …

Whilst ferry companies have long banned the live imports of pheasant and partridge chicks, Le Shuttle remains the main route into the U.K. upon which this cruel and environmentally damaging “sport” relies upon.

We are launching our campaign to end the import of these birds, but we need YOU 🫵🏻 to take action here 👉🏻 https://www.huntsabs.org.uk/campaigns/train-of-death/
