Open day at Hatch Mill Residential Care and Nursing‼️

Hey everyone!

We’re chuffed to bits to say we’re supporting ! 🤗
This year’s theme is all about building carer-friendly communities. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🏠 It’s a reminder of the huge difference a supportive community can make to carers’ lives.

As Abbeyfield Wey Valley Society hits our 40th birthday, 🎂 we just want to say a huge thanks to all our care teams for helping improve the lives of older people local to us over the years. 🤗

Also.... a massive shoutout to everyone else out there caring for people of all ages right now – you’re all legends and totally deserve it! 👏👇

We are delighted to introduce our newest volunteer, Sofia! Sofia has recently joined the Nower House team, and supports with delivering in-house activities and providing company for our wonderful residents 👫👫

Sofia is a breath of fresh air and is already settling in so well. She is currently doing her A-levels and is working towards studying medicine, which we hope we can support with along the way!

Our next volunteer to celebrate for , is Carrie!

David Gresham House is incredibly lucky to have such a vibrant and thoughtful volunteer, who enjoys continuing on her families legacy by filling the home with seasonal flower bunches and sharing this experience with residents, as well as hosting a fun and safe space to play bridge with residents.

We couldn’t imagine not having you in our home, too, Carrie!

At Maitland House, we're delighted to share that two of our residents are celebrating a truly special occasion – their 70th wedding anniversary! 🍰💒 Such a wonderful milestone for this lovely couple. 👏👏 We hope they had an amazing day filled with love and joy! 👍

Next up is one of our wonderful volunteers, Ian ⭐

Ian has been giving his free time to bring more wildlife into our garden at Nower House, by putting out fatballs and mealworms in the garden for our feathery friends to find, which brings our residents so much joy and keeps them in-tune with the garden!

Ian has also helped out with residential trips, activities and always gets stuck in during his visits. He is something of a celebrity - when he enters the home, our residents and staff always greet him excitedly.

To kickstart Volunteers Week within our society, we wish to begin to hugely thank all of our incredible volunteers for all they do, from our staff and of course, our lovely residents!

Life within todays' society can be busy, however choosing to show up for people and give what you can, can be life changing for so many!
