In anticipation of a visit from local firefighters complete with fire engine, Salisbury Grove students worked alongside staff to decorate signs and cards, helping to prepare a hydration station with snacks and drinks.🧑‍🚒

When the firefighters arrived, students enjoyed opportunities to try on equipment such as helmets and jackets, and engage with the sights, sounds and excitement of the day (including testing out the fire hose!) Students also took part in a fire quiz, supported to ask questions, respond and connect with the firefighters. 🚒🔥

Thank you to Parity Trustee Danny Randall for making possible a fun and sensory-filled day of fire festivities!

Tesco and their funding platform Easyfundraising have come together again to give a little help to good causes this month. Parity could receive one of five £1,000 funding pots!😊

The first half of May has been packed with feel-good fundraising!

The Big & Brassy Global Tour concert at the Medici Theatre in Weydon School was a fantastic success, proving that a bit of brass can go a very long way. 🎺We’ll share the grand total as soon as it’s been counted up and officially revealed.

And a massive thank you to quiz master Dave Brown and all the teams who attended and supported us at this month’s fun quiz at Ash Victoria Hall. An amazing £663 was raised for Parity! 🧩

We’re so grateful for everyone’s support and already looking forward to the next one.

Students from the St Martin’s service had the chance to get up close and pet a wide range of animals at Finkley Down Farm in Andover.🐐🐔

The café was beautifully decorated for spring with plants, bumble bees, and ceiling lights, which made the perfect place to stop for some refreshments before heading over for a fun round of mini golf!🐝 ⛳️

Celebrating 100 years of Sir David Attenborough! 🌍🦁

Whetstone Road marked this special milestone with a day full of sensory, creative and nature-inspired activities. From an under the ocean themed room to an animal adventure space, everyone got involved in exploring the wonders of the natural world.

Activities included:

Fossil excavation digs🦕
Clay animal imprint creations🎨
Wildlife quiz and fun facts🧠
Watching a David Attenborough documentary📺
“Guess the caption” game💬
Animal trail adventure🐾
Sensory “Guess what’s in the sack” activity, featuring objects with textures to guess - such as a loofa to represent reptile scales👜

Students and staff also joined in the fun by dressing up as different animals and explorers for the day.

A wonderful way to celebrate curiosity, nature, and the incredible legacy of David Attenborough 🌿

A beautiful day out for a group from Whetstone Road and Salisbury Grove, enjoying an adventure at Beale Wildlife Park near Reading.
The accessible minibus parking worked well, getting around the park was straightforward, and everyone enjoyed a visit to the restaurant. Plenty of laughter while meeting the animals, too! A lovely trip 🌿🦒
