It’s been a special day for the Crown Taverners!

The 1st XI dug deep and secured a superb victory away at Binsted. Even more remarkably, Rob Hodgkinson claimed his 950th wicket for the club — a truly outstanding achievement. We’re all incredibly proud of you, Rob Hodgkinson!

Unfortunately, the 2nd XI came up short against Overton, but Sean Reason continued his excellent wicket-taking form with another three wickets.

Now all attention turns to next week, as both sides are back in action in the Hampshire League.

Our 1XI make the trip down to Binsted in an early season top of the table clash. The Stiffs aim to carry on their good form. Support for the boys is welcome, it’s going to be another hot one! 🍻☀️

Two big victories from the boys over the weekend! Cam Scott and Chris Grannell the big winners. Cam made a fluent 135 off 80 balls! Grannell in turn took 5 smart wickets to guide the boys home!

The twos took on Binfield 6ths in a last minute friendly, the game was played in great spirits and everyone had an enjoyable afternoon in the sunshine!

Now there’s only one explanation for the victories!

🔔 Today is the day! 🔔 Club open from 16:00! 🍺

Looking forward to seeing many of you at the Club this evening for AGM and celebrations for George!

Happy New Year Tavs!

Cold fingers, frozen outfields, you know what that means... the cricket season is just around the corner!

This year we’re bringing the AGM forward to Saturday the 7th of February at 6pm.

As a reminder, every year one of the most important items of the AGM is voting in our Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer.

On that note, our current Chairman, Rob Hodgkinson, has taken the tough decision not to stand for re-election this season. Rob’s time, effort and commitment have helped put the club in a fantastic position. I'm sure you'll all join me in thanking Rob for everything he's done over the past seasons.

With this in mind, please consider whether you’d be willing to put your hand up for one of the roles mentioned above. You can let any committee member know beforehand, or throw your name in on the night.

Once the formalities are done, George Hayhoe will be celebrating his birthday - dancing shoes optional, drinks are encouraged.
