We are delighted that Paul Rogers from our sister centre in Exeter will be at the Bristol Centre on Sunday 27th September 2026 to lead a day of study and meditation on Geshe Langri Thangpa’s “Eight Verses of Mind Training”.

These practical instructions show us how encountering even difficult people can provide the very resource that we need to dissolve attachment to self and transform our ordinary everyday mind into the thought of enlightenment.

The day will be ideal for anyone wanting to deepen their understanding of the Buddhist path.

Timings:

Each session will involve meditation, listening to the teaching, and time for reflection and questions.

10.30-11.30am
12.00-1.00pm
2.15-3.15pm
3.45-4.45pm
Refreshments will be provided but please bring some lunch (to share if you wish). You may also find it helpful to bring a notebook.

Suggested donation: £15 for the day or £5 per session

Today is the Buddha Day of 'Chokhor Duchen'
which commemorates and celebrates the day the Buddha first taught the holy Dharma. This took place at the deer park in Sarnath, near the ancient city of Varanasi, 49 days after the Buddha’s demonstration of complete enlightenment under the Bodhi tree at Bodh Gaya in Magadha.
The Buddha ‘Turned the wheel of Dharma’ in the form of explaining the Four Noble Truths, to the five ascetics who had been his companions during the Buddha”s six-year period of demonstrating extreme asceticism.
