It was a real honour for the Sri Raja Rajeswary Amman Temple to invite both Age Concern Epsom & Ewell and The Sunnybank Trust to experience the Chariot Festival (Ther Thiruvizha) yesterday in Stoneleigh.

It was a wonderful celebration, filled with vibrant music, colour, devotion, and rich Hindu traditions. The Ther Thiruvizha is a significant festival in which the deity is carried in a beautifully decorated chariot, symbolising the divine presence moving amongst the community and offering blessings of peace, prosperity, protection, and wellbeing to all.
It is a time of prayer, unity, gratitude, and spiritual renewal.

We were delighted to witness and learn more about this important cultural and religious celebration. The warm welcome and generosity shown by everyone made the day especially memorable.

We are also incredibly grateful that the temple has chosen to support both of our local charities this year, with a generous donation of £1,000 to each organisation. This wonderful partnership and invaluable support will make a real difference to the people we serve.

It is truly special to share and celebrate different cultural traditions within our community, helping to bring people together through understanding, respect, and friendship.

Thank you to everyone at Sri Raja Rajeswary Amman Temple for such a meaningful and inspiring day.
