Yes - another issue of the Epsom & Ewell Talking Newspaper is in its way to our Listeners!

There's an update on how the MP Helen Maguire for Epsom & Ewell is progressing the pavement parking issue, of particular interest to people who are blind, together with a reminder from Age Concern Epsom & Ewell about eligibility for Attendance Allowance. And a great piece about Dame Prue Leith's visit to Nescot College.

Do you know a visually impaired person who would benefit from the Talking Newspaper?

Visual impairment shouldn't stop you being informed about what's going on. That is why, in our latest issue, we keep our Listeners up to date with the Epsom & Ewell Borough Council consultation on whether to create parish councils. The deadline is Sunday 1st February - so not long to go now.
See comment for more details and a link to the consultation.

We met the Mayor!
Thank you Councillor Robert Leach , our Honorary President and Mayor of Epsom and Ewell, for visiting the recording studio last week. He's been in office for less than a year and has already met with us on a couple of occasions, for which we are grateful. 👏👏👏
Read about the visit in the link in the comments.

Our first issue of 2026 brings great news:

Jimmy White, our local snooker legend, has presented a high-resolution camera, funded by donations to the Epsom Medical Equipment Fund, to Epsom Hospital where it will play an important role in preventing blindness.

We also provided our Listeners insight from Epsom & Ewell Times through 'A year in the life of' Epsom’s Deputy Lieutenant Mary Zoeller.

In 2026 we will continue to keep our visually impaired Listeners in touch with local community news. 😃

As our listeners enjoy their double issue over the festive period, it's a perfect moment to send heartfelt thanks to all our volunteers and supporters.

We've had a wonderful year - supported by great local news sources such as Epsom & Ewell Times and Leatherhead Living. We met Helen Maguire for Epsom & Ewell, resulting in our Talking Paper being mentioned in the House of Commons and talked with the blind influencer, Lucy Edwards. News reports have ranged from pieces about Nescot College, to the RNIB, the fantastic work of Sight for Surrey and the exploits of our friends, the Epsom Rotary Club. Who have we missed out?!
