“We’ve had different cancers and different experiences treatment-wise but we have so much in common… more than I have with anyone else that I know and we only met just over a year ago.” Shares Lucy.

Caitlin and Lucy were both 23 years old when they were first diagnosed and met through a Look Good Feel Better campaign day.

Lucy: “It’s just so nice to have someone who’s the same age and knows exactly how you feel and what’s going on.”

Caitlin: “There’s so much that literally nobody else our age can relate to unless you’ve been through it yourself. So it’s nice to know that I’m not alone.”

Our cancer support workshops could be the start of a new friendship like Caitlin and Lucy’s, a reassuring conversation across the table, or simply a reminder that you’re not facing this alone.

Community is a powerful part of feeling better. 🩷

We’re full of gratitude after the success of our first ever Feel Better Fest 🩷🌻

It was such a wholesome day filled with laughter, joy, wellness, great food and so many of you relaxing on beanbags soaking up the atmosphere!

To everyone who came along, danced, browsed, relaxed and enjoyed, thank you. And to our incredible partners, sponsors, volunteers and the Mayor of Epsom & Ewell who opened the day for us - we could not have done this without you.

“The online workshop was so positive. By the time I attended, I was in the throws of chemo and had lost all my hair.

I was at zero and the online workshop was what I needed. I was not wanting to see anyone or anyone to see me. What the workshop allowed me to do was join in a way that worked for me (screen on or off, contributing or just listening etc).

I found the workshop so helpful but most importantly it gave me back a little bit of control. In a situation where we have little or no control, it allowed me to see where I could help myself and gave me a glimpse of a future. It helped me help myself.” Sarah W

We spoke with That's TV Surrey ahead of our summer festival - Feel Better Fest - happening Saturday 8th August at Gildings Barns, Newdigate, Dorking!
