The National Emergency Briefing (NEB) is an independent UK public information initiative focused on the climate and nature crisis. It is a solution-oriented movement designed to cut through disinformation, unite local communities, and create a roadmap toward a greener, healthier, and more resilient future.

Instead of focusing purely on the challenges, the initiative highlights the massive benefits of taking collective action—such as lowering energy bills, improving public health, boosting food security, and strengthening local economies.

3 Positive Actions You Can Take Today
The goal of the project is to shift from awareness to civic engagement. Here is how you can get involved right now:
• Host or Attend a Community Screening: https://www.nebriefing.org/take-action
• Sign and Support the Parliamentary Petition: There is an active UK Government petition calling for an official, prime-time televised national emergency briefing. Signing it helps build the political pressure needed for full transparency and massive, wartime-scale public engagement. https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/767687
• Engage Locally and Connect with an MP: You can use the NEB platform to check if your local MP has signed the Parliamentary Call. If they haven’t, the campaign provides simple email templates to encourage them to join, helping to bridge the gap between community voices and Westminster leadership https://www.nebriefing.org/take-action

Thank you to Cllr Don Whyte, Cllr Sylvia Whyte, Cllr Sam Jenkins, Cllr Isabel Mullens, Cllr George Gladstone-New for your attendance, support and views

Although the Great Big Green week has finished, our stewardship of our natural world continues.

On 20 June at St John’s, we will be screening a 50 minute version of the National Emergency Briefing for climate and biodiversity followed by a facilitated discussion on what we can do locally to create resilience for our biodiversity and communities with respect to health, security and economics.

We have local councillors from different parties joining us who will be making decisions on our behalf. Please come and join the discussions to make a difference to our place and space. Please sign up here so that we know the numbers for refreshments https://stjohnschurchegham.churchsuite.com/events/eybghuwj
