๐ถ๐ช๐ต๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ ๐ด๐ถ๐ด! โจ
Last Thursdayโs Runnymede Folk Club was a fitting way to head into the summer break โ๏ธ โ a sold out room, a brilliant atmosphere and two wonderful acts sharing the stage.
Opening the night was Seb Longhorn making his first appearance at the club.
Alongside wonderful songwriting, Seb brought plenty of warmth, humour and banter with the audience, creating a set that felt relaxed, personal and completely engaging.
He set the tone perfectly for the evening ahead. โค๏ธ๐ถโค๏ธ
Then came Painted Sky
Whilst relatively new to the folk scene, itโs immediately obvious why people are talking about them.
George and Holly Brandon brought something genuinely fresh to the room โ rooted in traditional music, but with a modern energy and confidence that felt completely their own.
Their harmonies were superb throughout the night, with Hollyโs fiddle soaring over Georgeโs intricate guitar work.
What stood out most was how natural it all felt. No fuss. No gimmicks. Just beautifully played songs and tunes delivered perfectly!
For a club celebrating its third birthday, it felt like exactly the kind of night Runnymede Folk Club was built for โ discovering and supporting artists who leave a lasting impression long after the final applause. ๐๐
A huge huge thank you to everyone who came along, bought raffle tickets, supported live music and helped make it such a special evening. ๐๐ปโค๏ธ๐๐ปโค๏ธ๐๐ป
Weโre off for the summer nowโฆ but weโll be back on Thursday 3rd September with We Mavericks and Jeanne Marie.
