Wet weather? Not an issue here at Grace House, we enjoyed a crafty day using sea glass we collected a few weeks back. Fun had by all!

Grace House is a place to belong while our residents are with us. A place to call 'Home'. We encourage community reintegration through Probation women's centres and signposting to local groups and organisations. We want to walk alongside each other in this journey.

At the conference, we looked at what's next for women leaving custody. While employment, accommodation, and support are vital, at Grace House we realise these things are just the tip of the iceberg. Safe, supportive accommodation is not the destination—it is the beginning, and where the hard work really starts. We are deeply honoured to walk alongside these incredible women as they begin their journey of healing and hope.

Imago Dei's project Grace House was established to create a safe space for women leaving prison who would otherwise be homeless. We want to see this horrific statistic of 300 women leaving the prisons each year homeless, lowered.

At Grace House, we believe every woman is valuable and has something to offer. The courses we offer encourage women to continue developing emotional health, build strategies and resilience to situations life throws at us.

Yes, Grace House is a safe house for women leaving prison who would otherwise be homeless. But we are also more than that...

We offer 1-2-1 support to help resettlement into a life outside of prison. Practical advice and support on how to live independently. This can even include tasks such as cooking, cleaning or how to do laundry. We then continue support with finding secure move on accommodation. Grace House is not the final destination in a woman's journey, but a stepping stone as she moves closer to her preferred future.

Thoughts and plans may be already be turning to September, - back to school, and the start of the academic year.... but we still have 10 DAYS of August left!
