Did you know...?

Hamsteels Community Centre has been part of our community since 1963?

Before the Centre we have today, this was Hamsteels — the wooden building, which served the area for more than 50 years before making way for the present building.

We'd love to hear your memories of the old community centre too. What do you remember about it? Were you part of a group here, did you come to an event, or perhaps have a party here?

Help Shape the Future of Your Community

📢 Over the coming months, the Mid Durham Local Network will be hosting community engagement events across every electoral division in the area.

These events will help identify local priorities and inform the development of the Mid Durham Local Network Action Plan.

Our first event takes place in the Deerness electoral division on Monday 19 October.

Whether you're proud of your community, concerned about local issues, or have ideas for the future, we want to hear from you.
