The Hut was the originally an Age Concern building also known as Grove Hall, located in Chestnut Grove, Ushaw Moor, Durham, DH7 7LJ.

This is opposite the cemetery and next to Silver Tree Primary School. Inside The Hut you will find, a disabled accessible toilet, kitchen, gas central heating, TV, Hi-Fi, as well as Wi-Fi. The Hut is used for range of activities including, fitness classes, baby clinic, toddler groups, kids club, youth group, parties and other private hire events.

Disposing of your pumpkin? 🎃

You can place it on top of your black food waste caddy and our crews will take it away. All food waste collected will be converted into renewable energy using a process called anaerobic digestion. The bio fertilizer produced can be used in farming and the biomethane gas produced can be used to power homes and local communities.

Usually, we ask that all food waste is placed inside your caddy but, as pumpkin carcasses can be large, you can place them on top. Don't forget you can pop your pumpkin pulp inside as well with your egg shells, tea bags and other food waste.
